Happened to be in Satan's Den, a.k.a. Tesco, this evening and spotted the Hardback Book "Adnan's Story The Truth" by Rabia Chaudry on offer with a sticker on saying Try me for £5 (not sure I'd let anyone try me for a fiver but never say never) and thought ok will do. Most surprised to find that the cheapest I can find it on-line is around the £10 mark from third party sellers on Amazon. On a serious note it looks like quite an interesting read and will pop a partial description below...more details available at Amazon or any other good booksite...the Deal Title is taken from Waterstones website (not sure why they've used such a long title considering what is on the front of the book but such is life!) and isn't just a case of me being free and easy with words and trying to make up the longest deal title ever...lol...

PLEASE NOTE: this appears to be an in-store deal only as it isn't appearing on Tesco's website.

Description:

On February 28, 2000, Adnan Syed was convicted and sentenced to life plus thirty years for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, a high school senior in Baltimore, Maryland. From the moment of his arrest, Syed has consistently maintained his innocence. Rabia Chaudry, a family friend, always believed him and has never given up the hope that he might someday be released. By 2013, however, after almost all appeals had been exhausted, things looked bleak. That's when Rabia contacted Sarah Koenig, a producer at This American Life, in the hopes of finding a journalist who would bring greater attention to Adnan's story and might shed new light on the case. Koenig's investigation turned into Serial, an international phenomenon and Peabody Award-winning podcast.

Loved Serial, fascinating show. Listened to series one twice. I heard he's getting a retrial!

Yes...not to give too much away but their is a letter from the author, dated June 30, 2016 right at the start of the book stating that Adnan has been granted a new trial...as I say I won't give too much away for anyone that isn't aware of the case/story but it's a fascinating story and be very interesting to see what happens next

listen to undisclosed, it's by the author and has some more interesting info that serial overlooked

Ok will do thanks for the info...having listened to the original Podcast, Serial, and being totally fascinated by it (like cannibalwombat above) I thought the book would be worth a read to hopefully gain more background info regarding the case...
