Adobe CS2 Creative Suite, Photoshop CS2 - Free

Found 12th MarEdited by:"nougat"
I will probably get some stick from the pedants on here about it being free or not but I just did a clean install and lost my photoshop and remembered this deal posted a few years ago

If the deal link doesn't work try this

The suite includes...

Acrobat 3D 1.0
Acrobat Standard 7.0
Acrobat Pro 8.0
Audition 3.0
GoLive CS2
Illustrator CS2
InCopy CS2
InDesign CS2
Photoshop CS2
Photoshop Elements 4.0/5.0
Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0

Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don't require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.)

Edit: As the pedants are circling I should point out you should have previously purchased this to download the free copy.

Edit. free course for photoshop on Shaw Academy

Windows has been crippling PC’s for years.

If Adobe are giving both the product and serial numbers away to anybody that registers then it's hardly piracy.

They know that using an older version may tempt some into buying the latest versions, so more of a marketing trick than anything else.
Did anyone think of this when they saw this deal. (Sound on)

To be fair, that was dodgy developers, websites and ads; when used properly, it performed most things more efficiently than the browser alone would back then.
That's okay to be fair, okay, a lot of people will trash this, simply because it's the older version of CS. But, honestly a lot of amateur photographers seldom use half in not a quarter of any CS suite.

For free, heat added.

They have been modded here you go

Nope. Can't see you providing a good link. Why don't you just type it out.
Not to be a party-pooper but this is bordering piracy, as pedantic as I'm sounding. This isn't free and as the description says, this is for people wanting to re-activate their old copies due to the activation servers being down.

I'm not condoning this nor am I against it but just keep that in mind folks.
nougat9 m ago

Links are good now

Cool. Thanks. Didn't realize the software was that old tho'!

Do I need it? Got premier elements & lightroom already.

While I doubt Adobe care, I'm pretty sure it straight up is piracy, by most definitions of it.

Well you know how it is, I have to word it to be "on the fence" or else you'd just get hurled abuse for "Well it's their own fault" or "As if you've never pirated before".

But yes, it is 100% pirating.

I guess it is but's it's unsupported software so you couldn't buy it (from them) if you wanted to.

Regardless whether they sell it or not, it'd still be piracy as you do not legally own the product/software. You're utilising a key reserved for genuine customers who need to reactivate their software.
Funnily enough although most goods in shops state you have to pay for them and have a price attached... you can just walk out with them!

Just don't get caught...

You mean that bit way below the part where you put "Adobe is giving away the entire CS2 Creative Suite for free" and "Go get yourself an entire art tool set!" ?

EDIT: I see you've now removed those comments - but just as an FYI - 'pedantry' refers to minor quibbles, not the correction of completely false statements...

Thanks OP. Is it still usable, given that the current version is CS6?

We're waaay beyond CS6 now - the current version is CC2018, which is about 7 years newer than crusty ol' CS6.

As to whether it's worth using, it's up to you. If you're going to use an unauthorised copy anyway though, I figure you might as well treat yourself to the current version. Adobe won't mind - it's basically the their business strategy to push free copies of their stuff around, to give it dominance, and to establish and maintain it as a standard so that they can make the real money from the business market, who can't be as relaxed about piracy as the rest of us.
I have this installed, and yes I paid (a lot) for CS2.

One thing to keep in mind, if anyone is thinking of installing this, is that there is an installation bug. If you try to install this on a Win 7 64 bit OS, it will install to the wrong folder by default. Once this happens you will have problems uninstalling, and it won't work properly.

BEFORE you do anything, back up your OS!

Only then, try to install it, but before you do, you will need to open up a command prompt, and use it to check what the correct name (under DOS) is of the folder that CS2 needs to install to. In windows that folder is named Program Files (x86), but you MUST install to whatever the command prompt tells you the name is. If you don't you will have problems. If you search you will find more detailed INFO (look for Adobe support search results) on how to do this if you are still unsure.

I find it very usable, however I use another program to convert my RAWs into tif files, and then import those into CS2.
Also, it won't have support for Win 10. You could try (let us know how you get on) but I would only risk it once you have backed up your OS. I'm using Win 7 Pro (64 bit) here.

I installed it on a secondary drive and chose the folder myself (didn't want it on the SSD. Works okay for me on W10 pro 64bit

That's good to know. I may end up installing it on a Win 10 system eventually as well then. Edit: I've updated my original post to reflect the fact that as far as I'm aware Win 7 64 bit can be tricky.

For those wanting to install on Win 10 I would urge caution too, despite the fact that it worked for you.

When my PC was dying, i tried ubuntu for the first time and literally went from a PC crashing every few hours to never again. I never seen my PC load up so fast. Sadly though video editing on it was horrible as it only had basic stuff and being someone who does like to edit in detail, using after effects as well, I had to go back to Windows and eventually build a new PC

I would love to get on the latest Adobe software but monthly fees just ruin it for me, i can't afford it, one month i might not use it for much at all, then next loads. Really want to try that animator one as I want to see if I can bring some of my cartoon ideas to life

I keep adding the serial number as listed (for Photoshop CS2) - 1045-1412-5685-1654-6343-1431 at the end of the instalation process and it says 'This is not a valid serial number'.
I've tried copying and pasting, writing manually, including and not including the hyphens
Any ideas why this is happening anyone or a solution? Thnaks

I didn't download that one. I downloaded CS2 for Windows and used the code 1130-1414-7569-4457-6613-5551. You sure you are putting the right code in for what you have downloaded? Try the other code it says it covers everything.

When youv'e done that can you look at the link for Shaw academy as it is corrupted.

Is that the whole Creative Suite @nougat (i.e the one that has CS2_install_Win.pdf CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1.exe CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2.exe CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3.exe VCS2.zip CS_2.0_WWE_Extras_1.exe)?
So, download all them and install in order with that code?

I did only want Photoshop CS2 but that serial number that they say to use doesn't work

EDIT: Yep, I was trying to install:-

I think if you only instal from disc one. then when it asks for disc 2 cancel you should just have Photoshop. Try it, it might work.
Heat added. Such a useful bit of kit. I've had this installed for years and continue to use it for all of my image editing to include my photography. I'm not a professional so I have so incentive to upgrade, and boy is old Photoshop still a powerful bit of kit if you know your way around it.
