This quote might help:

They are very different products.I now can't imagine trying to take a … They are very different products.I now can't imagine trying to take a serious view of digital amateur photography without Lightroom. (Mac users, as stated above, might prefer Aperture). If I could only have/afford one software photo-processing product, then it would definitely be Lightroom. As stated, it is a fantastic workflow management programme and provides excellent cataloguing, grading and sorting facilities. It is also a superb Raw converter and has most of the post-exposure processing and adjustment functions a "straight" photographer is ever going to need.If you want to indulge in "creative" image manipulation, then you might need something else in addition to Lightroom. PS Elements is one possibility as, of course, is the full CS6 (or CC) Photoshop. Other options include the Nik or Topaz plug-ins for Lightroom. However, my very strong advice to the OP would have been to start with Lightroom. Master it and all it can do - and only then consider whether your needs require something additional. But as you already have Elements, get Lightroom and use it as your main processing Hub. You will be able to use the "Edit in Elements" function from within Lightroom when you require it.However, before spending any money, download a free trial of Lightroom and spend 30 days playing with it before deciding. My bet is that you won't look back.

Likely misprice as upgrade costs same?

Hot, ordered!

Talk about good timing!! I was waiting for this to appear on Amazon's lightning deals, but at this price, it'll do nicely!

Is this the full version or upgrade version? Looks like the upgrade version at this price. Anyone know if its definitely the full version?

That's the key question; website does not confirm what version this is.

Just wondering... Does this come on CD/DVD? Because my new macbook pro arriving on Monday doesn't have an optical drive so I'm just wondering if this will be a download code?

Thanks

Looks like a boxed version so will come on CD/DVD. Full or upgrade version - That is the question

The asterisk against the photo book service leads to the line: *Fully Sealed Reseller/Bundle Copies produced to be sold/available with Computers, Printers & Cameras"

That is therefore what I think we will be getting. A full version of LR5, but one which is marketed for bundling at a special price when sold with hardware. I do not envisage any problems registering this with Adobe.

Will almost certainly be on a disc. You may be able to activate a downloaded trial copy with the activation code which will come with the disc.

Ok thanks

I'm still debating whether to get this. Haven't used anything like this before and haven't even really used a Mac before. But I sorta want some decent software to take advantage of my new macbook pro.

I'm also concerned about organising my photos in nice categories so I would hope this software can provide that, as well as decent facebook integration.

LightRoom is certainly a great tool for organising your images. But worth pointing out that a lot of folks with Macs use Aperture as a preferred alternative to LightRoom. Cannot speak with authority since we don't use Macs. Nor do I post images on Facebook.

Why not download the free trial first? I have just ordered based on quick google search of reviews and features. Will download and use the trial first and if I do not like it I can sell on my unused purchased copy on ebay or something. Voted hot.

Good point; so very likely this is the full version...or they have misunderstood what they are selling.

So if we end up with anything different we've a good case for a full refund

If its sold without the required hardware bundle its not legitimately licenced as per the resellers agreement, so the licence void.

Doubt it will bother Adobe. and it will install and activate without issue. I have LR4 and never really use it much, preferring Photoshop 4 now I finally understand it...

Been after this for a while, just the ticket, ordered

Thanks for posting

Currently got Lighroom 4, anyone know if I can sell this on? It's a genuine copy, I'm not sure on the process of selling software.

Just called up Morgan Computers, and can confirm it is the full version, and not up-grade/education edition. Placed my order.

Its possible but unless the subscription is cheap I think it would slowly kill it. Allot of non-paid photographers use Lightroom whereas I bet that Photoshop is used by a much larger number/percentage of paid phogotgraphers hence it can stand a higher monthly subscription.

Can anyone confirm this was the full version then?

Anyone recived their copy yet?

Nope, ordered Sunday. Have emailed this afternoon but not heard anything back either.......

Called yesterday. They claimed mine was posted Monday, untracked Royal Mail Parcel post which is taking up to 5 days, currently...

Today is final day of Adobe sale, so I purchased there as well in case the Morgan order doesn't go well. Adobe has a 30 day return policy on software.

Have had an email back stating that it had been posted 1st class Royal Mail on the 6th.

"The post office tells us that in exceptional circumstances it can take up to 15 days."

Money has been taken from my credit card...............
