In association with SEA LIFE, you or someone you know can adopt a blacktip reef shark for 12 months with this Adopt a Shark Gift Tin. This feel good gift includes easy-to-follow instructions – register online or by post. Your adoption will assist the marine conservation work of SEA LIFE. Perks include one free ticket to any SEA LIFE centre!

After you register, a personalised supporter certificate, a shark photograph and one free SEA LIFE centre ticket will be dispatched to you within 28 days.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long do I have to register my gift? You need to register your gift before the expiry date on your gift registration booklet. We recommend that you register your gift as soon as possible.
How long does my adoption last? Your adoption lasts for 12 months from the date of registration.
How long does it take for me to receive my certificate and photograph? These will be dispatched within 28 days from the date of registration. Occasionally, factors outside of Gift Republic’s control may affect delivery times.
Can I visit the Sharks? Many SEA LIFE centres are home to a number of sharks. By registering this gift you will receive one free SEA LIFE ticket to go and visit the sharks! To avoid disappointment, before you visit check with SEA LIFE that the centre keeps blacktip reef sharks. Please note that due to ongoing breeding programmes or due to natural causes, sharks can be relocated at short notice, or may not be on public display.
What species of Shark have I adopted? You have adopted a blacktip reef shark. Many SEA LIFE centres are home to these sharks (and others!) which naturally live amongst the coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific oceans.

What a strange thing to adopt.

we will be adopting flies next :-D

If there's a choice, i'd adopt the 5 metre Great White currently patrolling the Australian coast.

I love sharks but I would only back a proper charity. bite-back.com. The calendar is amazing and all goes to a good cause.

I know a loan shark that needs adopted

I'd prefer to adopt one of those dogs-trust dogs that are so intelligent that they will apparently write to you (according to the TV ads).

Remind your adoptee never to bite the hand that feeds it. To be honest this is not really a deal. You don't hear people going round saying brad and Angelina got an amazing deal on their adoption package.

Slight difference in goodwill adopting and actually physically taking on the care and upbringing of a child.

Though I did hear they got 'em on a one day only flash sale BOGOF.

I've already done this on the stipulation that my wife has to share a tank with the shark.

After seeing Blackfish, anything to do with Sea Life or SeaWorld that doesn't involve freeing the animals is of no interest at all.

Anything for a good jaws

Does the shark send you letters telling you how its doing like the dogs trust? It doesn't seem like you're adopting anything, as you need to ring the sealife before hand to make sure they even have the sharks there.

SEA LIFE does not just concentrate its efforts on one particular species; the organisation runs various projects that help wildlife in areas where they feel it is most needed. If for any reason your chosen project is unavailable SEA LIFE reserves the right to allocate the donation wherever they feel the need is greatest. Why adopt a shark when you can marry a lawyer?

HAHAHAHA that tickled me. Thanks.

Maybe they should ask Colgate for sponsorship instead.

This is sick. Don't prolong these animals suffering by sponsoring their captivity!

Given that the Liberal Democrats are close to extinction maybe we should have an adoption campaign for them as well.
