This router modem allows you to connect your broadband ADSL line to your equipment either by Wifi or transmission via your power lines. It's a great deal, with a huge £70.02 in savings, as it was £99.99 beforehand.

Great way to extend your network, using a variety of transmission types, and can connect to upto 4 PCs. This flexibility of so many connection types is unheard of in most routers/modems.

Note, signing up for Maplin's email newsletters will give you access to vouchers for money off purchases purchased online, though this product could also be found in store.

As you get free delivery if your total purchases are over £35, add something cheap to your order to get free delivery, if it costs more than £5.03 (it would be mad to pay £2.99 for delivery! eg. batteries etc)

Unlike the Zyxel 200Mbit Homplug AV router, that was on offer at PC World during January, this one is only 85Mbit Homeplug 1.0 capable.

While it is a bit dated, I am not aware of any Homeplug AV offers at the moment and so may be a fair offer. None the less I would think long and hard before buying this one, especially if you want to stream video in-house. ie: ]with one of these.

85Mbit is plenty fast enough if you are using this to share your broadband ADSL as the quickest ADSL connection i know of is 24Mbits

Even if you have virgin at 50Mbits (but this is not ADSL.)

The only benifit of 200Mbits is transfer of files between computers.

200Mbits is needed for HD video streaming as i have to use Ethernet cable for my ZYxel media streamer as not found realy cheap 200Mbit homeplugs yet 85Mbits is only ok for SD video but ok for most other uses

One then purchases a single Powerline plug (A66HB) to connect to each computer ?

Cost of same £39.99

Note - surge protectors may reduce or stop the operation of powerline products.

Think I'll pass.

Discounted by over £70, so a great deal if someone is looking for a wired and wifi router, with ability to use power lines too. And speed is pretty high for internet useage, above Virgins 50Mb speed.

I bought one but it's very hard to connect I didn't find the default user name and password
