I can understand when there were video cassettes and DVDs but now we have blu rays and 4k. Just wait for the movie to be released in a few months time and save yourself loads.

True, and why eat out when you can cook at home?! Why go swimming when you can fill the bath?! Why go on holiday when you can watch tourist docs on netflix?! Why take the kids to park if you have a swing in your backyard?! I could go on and on...
Pointless if just 1 adult and a child want to go 😥

Haven't paid for cinema tickets in years. Club Lloyds bank account (£3 monthly fee but waived if you pay in 1500/month)

6 free cineworld tickets a year for cineworld or Vue. Mrs has same account, so 12 free tickets a year.
There is something deeply wrong when two adults + 2 kids costs twice as much as buying the bluray a couple of months later. Add on some snacks and your talking 3 to 4 times more than the bluray. I live the cinema, but they have got to get a grip of this.

Lol Orange wednesdays. Brings back memories.
This is NOT A DEAL, I’ve just checked Lego movie 2 for today (11/2) and a family ticket works out at £7.25 each. The same movie on Saturday 16/2 (half term) is £9.75 each!! How is this a deal, I love Odeon LUXE but this is false advertising!!

You don't have to hide snacks... As long as you're not taking alcohol in you're allowed to bring your own
Vue is 5.99 any film any time
Starts 18/2, which is no use when Bedfordshire are on half-term this week...

Duh... Peak vs off peak!
Generally speaking Odeon consider Friday-Saturday as peak time, so prices are higher. My local has gone a step further and now considers Monday-Thursday after 5pm as peak time as well. It's why I no longer go to the cinema.

Not false advertising at all.

Plus you can pause a Blu-ray when someone needs the toilet/drink and you don't generally have to put up with noisy people at home either.
You'll need to remortgage your house if you want a large drink and packet of M&M's though.

My local Vue charges £11.04 for adults, £8.74 for children and £9.?? for teens, not sure about family ticket prices though
Thanks for the warning for when to avoid going cinema....kids ruin it
Just have to find me a family now to take to the cinema.
I'll stick to Vue, never going to Odeon again after they put a premium rate on top of black panther when it was on it's last screening and had one for the entire week... I'll stick to Vue, cheaper and even on two for 1 I can sit in premium seating for less...

Ah yes, on top of the "post 5pm Mon-Thurs" peak time, they've now added the "Blockbuster" premium.
Don't get me started on their vouchers either. So many strings attached to those that they aren't worth having.
Odeon and Deal is an oxymoron.
Rather pay £50 a year on my zgemma get all new movies £1 a week 😋
Once u had odeon luxe....

Well depends on the cinema as I mentioned before my local odeon is very cheap so its 4 quid to see anything so that is significantly less than the bluray. Also I have no speaker setup so the cinema is extremely different in that respect.
Impressed how my local odeon has got rid of all 2d cheaper screenings for half term and premium priced the whole lot (£3 extra each compared to this Thursday) £47 + snacks, I think I’m out

“Tickets from £5*....” what does the “from” and the “*” mean in this case?
Gone hot as this sounds like a good deal but it isn't. It's actually still very expensive which I'm sure the OP was already aware of hence why no price added but hey
At Loughborough odeon all tickets are £4 each and a family ticket works out to £3 per person so I can take my two kids for just £9
odeon is ireelevant now vue has way cheaper pricing

And for those of you that are a 'Student', you can get £6 Cinema ticket's, at ODEON, lol.

Though I'm not sure of the criteria though? (specific day's/time's of screening to qualify for the £6 Student ticket's, or whatever ... )

Loooooooool, depending on each individual's 'unique criteria', as per my immediate above ...
My lads on his school break this week in East Ayrshire. Shame odeon weren't savy enough to open this offer to Atrshire Cinemasjust now. 😬
Yep, Vue £5 each for all films all of the time.

I've been lucky enough to have seen a film called Roma on Netflix and in a cinema-- believe me there is no comparison!

As it is in Odeon in some parts of the country, Portsmouth being one of them.
