seems a good price.

Thats more like it, Does not look very nice though and I'd rather pay and extra £50 for the samsung with 160GB HD and the larger battery.

or search nc10 here, on hukd

Mine arrived today - looked great - but the keyboard was broken and the idiots on 'The Tech Guys' support line were less than helpful 'send it back' was the line - so not only have I wasted £229 on this machine (which took a week to arrive) I now have to wait for the numpties to collect it, then sort out a refund.

Truly awful Dixons service - as per usual. Never Knowingly Helpful

Isnt it strange that a product that has only been on sale a matter of months should have refurbished models available. Makes you question initial reliability and build quality.

Got mine today, in the usual brown refurb box, no manuals or anything. It seems brand new though. Great little machine, very snappy, had some problems with the wireless dropping out initially but installed updated drivers and that problem's gone away. I can see me using it more than my much more powerful, snazzier laptop...

I would generally avoid any item that has had so many returns they are able to make a product line from them.

people return for many reasons, one of them being that they wanted to have a look at it at home and take advantage of the distance selling regulations. or they expected too much from it, trying to have it do multiple tasks and not being happy when it slowed down.

Ordered one. Just what I was after! Voucher code SAVE5 knocked off a fiver too.

Doing a bit of googling has revealed that these netbooks are quite upgradeable. Up to 2GB RAM (unlike up to just 1.5GB on the Acer Aspire One), HDD can be easily upgraded to 320GB. For those so inclined, new OS (like Mac OSX Leopard) can be dual booted on it, there are some YouTube vids of the Advent 4211 running OSX and Vista. ]msiwind.net is quite useful for Advent 4211 users too, shows how you can update the Advent BIOS to the latest "MSi Wind" one to allow overclocking of the CPU.

No doubt all of the above will invalidate the warranty, but I am geek, hear me roar! :geek:

As you can tell, I'm looking forward to the delivery! :-D
