As above, with 15.4" screen, integrated webcam, HDMI output, SD card slot and DVDRW drive. I've been looking at laptops for a while and found this, it seems to be the best spec around for this sort of price.

Includes Windows Vista Home Premium, MS Works 9.0 SE.

Hope this helps someone.

Don't forget Quidco too!

1.83 GHz?

But it is an Advent !

This is PC Worlds own brand and they often badge generic laptops.

You have no idea of the quality of this laptop and I would spend a few pounds more and get a "proper" brand like Toshiba etc.

Yes, I know it is an Advent, but I just thought that it might help someone looking for a laptop at that sort of price.

I worked for DSGI for a long time, and Advent imho are no worse than any other brand. Laptops are mostly all made in a couple of factories in China anyway. The only difference is these are sold more directly without a brand badging them and getting a slice of the cake.

nothin special bout this for the price imo

You are being fooled by a £30 hard drive upgrade and a £25 memory upgrade.
Get the Staples £250 Dual Core Fujitsu laptop, spend £10 on extra memory and £60 on a new hard drive + caddy.
Result - more reliable laptop, a spare portabe hard drive and £100+ saved.

Advents are fine though. Often made by the same people who make the reliable Fujitsu's.

I think this makes very interesting … I think this makes very interesting reading:http://www.pcpro.co.uk/awards/index.php?pageId=1

That’s scary. I wouldn’t have bought an Advent anyway but that is an appalling result for them.
