********, GTFO if you don't know **** about PC.

Good enough to encode x264 and even run new games at low res (not crysis).

Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmm, at this end of the spec, you can do much better for the price, a 4350 is way under a modern gaming card
the processor again, quad core not the best value for gaming either

typical of pc world, if they try and pass this off as a gaming pc

Shows as £399.97 on the site.

Marked it as expired since it is now gone up to £400, was marked as a web exclusive price.

Is there a consensus as to what is the best available PC for under £500 ..... main concerns are the processor and amount of RAM, dedicated graphics card a bonus.

Please note, the case on this thing is enormous. Larger than a standard desktop tower, so would be ideal if you were going to upgrade components.

Well worth going to see one 'in the flesh' if you're interested.

The processor is decent (it's power hungry but the raw performance isnt bad) but the graphics card is the absolute bottom end. When you can get a similar machine with a 4850 for £50 this is a poor deal: hotukdeals.com/ite…ti-

Guted I never saw this eailer. I seen this in Pc world Truro a couple of moth ago. Think it was a bit tad expensive around the 450 or 500 mark. 350 is pretty reasonable. Thoud I have seem processor of similar specs and larger hard drive for about 350 in Aldi's 2months ago.

I can't decide between that Fujitsu or this from PCWorld.

Product code: 670584

Packard Bell X6620UK - Refurbished PC

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor
(2.5GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 4MB Cache)
Genuine Windows(R) 7 Home Premium 64-bit
6GB DDR2 memory
1TB hard drive
1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT220 graphics
DVD Rewriter
Built-in wireless (802.11b/g)

I know that the Packard Bell is a refurb which makes it hard to compare, but you seem to get so much more for only £75 more.

Which would you buy if you wanted to play games like Bioshock 2/Halo 2/GTA IV?

Just going to second the 'this is a load of balls' comment above.

This could use a better GPU if games are your cup of tea - but at £350 it was a steal, less so at £400 but still not that bad.

An 'internet PC' is a Celeron with onboard graphics

Tough call - the PB has Vista and this has W7 - so to get rid of the infestation which is Vista you're looking at about £75.

On the other hand, the 4850 is an amazing card for the price - easily worth £80 - so horses for courses.

Overall I'd take the PB but I'd buy W7 and install that first (the upgrade offer ended on 31/Jan)

The Misco one without a doubt, the 4850 is much faster than a GT 220. Vista has a couple of rough edges but no real problems.

Now at £380! probably best to see the Misco deal here ]http//ww…ti-
