Not bad considering it comes with OS similar specs to the zoostorm base units

Processor Pentium® Dual Core Processor G630 not exactly powerful.

not exactly powerful for? Please don't say gaming...
I think this is a good spec for the money, yes not a gaming machine but perfect for normal office use on the cheap.

Not very powerful for gaming...............;)

If I lived on benefits and spent most of my days viewing porn I'd have the time to build this myself for at least £3.50 cheaper which I could then spend on roll up fags and strong cider although deodorant and shampoo would probably be a wiser buy so I've been told oO

Yes - with the new generation of processors my copy of Word 2010 opens 0.00067 seconds quicker.
I think every PC that comes up on here gets slated for its gaming capabilities and end up putting off people who don't even utilise the machine for such extensive workloads.

I'm in the market for a PC to essentially run, simultaneously, half the adobe suite (Dreamweaver/Photoshop/inDesign) alongside a tabbed up Chrome. Would this be sufficient?

Thanks
I have the same processor, and have been playing Saints Row 3 and Day Z with little to no problems. I think I would benefit far more from upgrading my GFX over the processor.

Yes - easily don't listen to the "nerd crew" on here it's more than powerful enough for the average user you wont start getting any snide comments on this until after 6pm because the nerds dont get out of bed till then.

Edit. Sorry - just looked at the specs and apparently this hasen't got the latest "dylithium crystals" installed so this is only as useful as a Spectrum ZX81 IMO.

This should play most games with a half decent gfx card fitted, this pc would be wasted on standard office use, for an extra £20 though they could have fitted a quad core instead of the dual.
I've just been to visit a customer of mine who is a professional photographer and still uses a 3ghz P4 Dell for all the editing and digitising of his 1000's of slides and negatives. Apparently it's now getting a bit slow oO

This PC would be more than capable for pretty much anything. The 'gamers' forget that the vast majority of people don't give a stuff about it, and even low end models now are orders of magnitude faster than machines just a few years old.

These days, a lot of people (I know not all) will be running quite a lot of services in the background that they have no idea are there. They sync to mobile devices, download images from cameras, install a stack full of drivers and expect this to run quickly. This processor has 2 cores and 2 threads and in a modern demanding environment this will quickly start to show. IMHO.

I didnt say this was a bad deal, for the money it looks ok, but I was pointing out that in todays market people do a lot with their pc's and then complain bitterly if after six months things start to slow down.

i am sure they don't, for me personally I do run a fair bit of demanding software but for you and many others it may well be fine. good luck is what I say.
Obviously an i5 or i7 would be better than this CPU but it would cost twice as much.

hot for the specs

a user that downloads tons of crap will make any PC run like a dog so either way they're bin it and buy another 2 years later.
pritty good deal

it has a shiny case, so people will buy it.

Don't you get 3 to 5 year warranty if you buy the components ? Why do they offer just one year is beyond me... in other european countries the EU law demands at least 2 years warranty on goods such as this. Is GB still EU or not?

No, say gaming, I'm using a g630 to play BF3 on ultra at high fps...it's the GPU that matters.

Yes, but more ram wouldn't hurt.
I think buying anything not quadcore is a mistake unless you want to waste money down the drain.. even internet browsing can use 4 cores, most software these days use 4 or soon more cores. 2 cores is history and should die in the desktop asap. video, photo, media, music, software, spredsheets, browsers etc etc etc, all use 4 cores and more.. so don`t waste on anything below 2 cores..

people stating 2 cores is fine have no clue and are misleading people.... 4 cores are better than 2... mmkk (in 99.99% of software today)

Edit: 4+ cores for desktop, 1 or 2 min cores for Mobiles, notepads etc

And at least 2 years less warranty. Good deal though, is very good for 90% of people. Just the warranty that makes me a bit angry. Don't understand why all in GB gets less warranty, laptops, TVs everything.

Problem is a core I won't be any faster at windows 6 months in either. Two core are perfectly fine for day to day use...

Wrong, in my opinion. I have virtual machines opened and running 2 or 3 Visual Studio projects at the same time on dual cores, use Photoshop, video encoding and honestly don't need more. Open TaskManager and watch your 4 cores sitting at 5% most of the time... And when you say 1 or 2 cores for mobiles, that is good, cause can't have less then one core

weak trolling.

It's an Advent people. It's the only part of the description that matters.
If it breaks, and there's a good possibility it will, it'll have to go back to the tech guys or whatever they're renamed now.
Is it a brand motherboard or one of those unnamed unbranded Chinese backalley ones that pcworld loves so much?
Try finding a replacement when it goes..

You missed the irony in my post. These threads keep coming up about not be powerful when for most, it's more than enough.
Has it got an HDMI out?

What like a atx motherboard? These machines don't use proprietary boards any more...yes it's cheap, you don't expect next day on site white glove treatment for the money now do you...
I used to work at PC World. Wouldn't recommend the brand.
But they are NOT new, they are NEW OTHER meaning "New other (see details): A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing its original packaging, or the original packaging has been opened or is no longer sealed. The item may be a factory second, or a new and unused item with minor defects. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections."

Good spec, but advent and "new other", I would not touch one even at half that price.
Not a fantastic PC, but great at that price, just recommended it to somebody for a home office PC

Sorry, but you don't have a clue what you are talking about. I've done all the things you mentioned, plus much more on much older and less powerful CPU's than this.
You haven't even looked this CPU up, have you?

Up until very recently my son had a single core 2.9GHz P4 that must have been 10 years old and it could (just) run Arkhan Asylum on it.

Is this really that bad?
