Good luck to you.

I ordered one in August. It arrived dead, and I spent the next week on the phone to Dixon trying to get them to come and collect it.:(

They missed FOUR collection appointments and messed me about no end.

Last night they promised they would collect it this morning. We'll see.

If the laptop you'd get works, it would look nice. If it does not, you better stock up on high blood pressure medication before you try and contact DGS, and make sure you book some time off from work to wait for their unfulfilled promises to collect.

They do apologise, however. Every other word they utter is "I apologize for that". Unfortunately, they still have my money and I have their meaningless apologies and a piece of dead plastic. I'd be happier if I had my money and they had their dead plastic.

Lorenz (hopping mad)

PS If a DGS executive should happen to read this (if they are not too busy apologizing), feel free to contact me for details, order numbers, times of calls to them and to DHL (who assured me they had no record of pickups even being ordered).

i had 2 from them in july all working fine, yes one of them only had 1 gb ram instead 3 gb rang them up n they gave me £25 refund ,n i bought 2 gb ram from ebay for £10.they always been good with their service
remember you buying a refurb with gr8 price n if you have any issue they happy to take it back.

I have ordered one just for surfing the net etc. Was going to buy a netbook but at that price it seems ok.

Bought this refurbs from currys_pcworld ebay, first one had dead pixels on screen, second one faulty memory. not been bothered really to change it by myself, since it take at least one day to get a response from them on ebay + you may invalidate your warranty. second faulty just been collected today.

ordered one in July from currys - but was only £148

The issue is not that the item is refurb. The issue is that in my current and yet unresolved experience, their Customer (dis)Service told me untruths or incorrect information in every single call I made and gave me assurances or made promises that, as of today, always failed to materialize.

As of today, they have ignored 5 (FIVE) collection appointments. They told me that if I took the item to my nearest store I'd get an immediate refund, but when I went there, I was again told something different and I did not get an immediate refund.

As far as I am concerned, I feel I have been treated unfairly. I am not satisfied with their lack of interest, I feel I have been misled and I will take the widest berth possible of this company in future.

Again, should a Dixon's representative happening to read this feel like calling me, I will tell them how they failed me.

If you paid by credit card claim then I would ask them to do a chargeback or go via section75 of CCA.

yep, kinda cr*p experience. Is it from dixons website or other? The person who contacted me over email was really helpful (ebay pcworld_currys), and collection were booked promptly, although once courier arrived about 7 pm,when I was out, emailed them back next day, and had next day collection.

Last night I sent a complaint to customer.services@currys.co.uk detailing the sorry saga and today I received a call from a Dixon's representative, apologizing (again), assuring me that she is going to take personal ownership of the issue until full resolution.
She also said that the shop should have offered immediate refund because it was no longer a return but a customer service issue.
Hopefully this will be a lesson to them and they will be able to learn from this.
Perhaps mine was an isolated case.
