I have the purple and green version. It's a good keyboard but the arrow keys are a pain as you need to use the fn key to use them. If it has its own directional keys it would be better.

This would get seriously annoying. Cheers for the heads up. I probably wouldn’t have spotted that until it arrived. Deal breaker for me.

Assuming reds is it a clicky one?

The description does say reds, and no reds are the 'silent' ones without click or tactile feedback. But that's not silent silent if you're heavy fingered, they're still noisier in an open office than a membrane keyboard.

Definitely seems child focused - young children at that.

In which case then is there any point in mechanical switches - maybe if you insisted on nothing but the best for your child but it's a funny hill to stand on.

Those keycaps make me think of a Lego man.

Would just need a Lego themed case to go with it.

ADX are surprisingly good for the price, if they stick with the line up, should be reds

    yeah should be reds -

Should? The description does actually state it: Switch type - Red switches

They'll be Chinese clones not Cherry at this price point, but in all honesty it's a quarter of that equivalent price. Looks like a really good value keyboard for what it is, and I guess the price reflects the rather 'niche' colour scheme.

That said, the whole 60% keyboard with mechanical keys thing, although a real 'thing', seems a bit bold for Currys to have taken on as a stock item.

Looks pretty sweet in my opinion. Sack off RGB this is way cooler than some rainbow Unicorn sick lighting up my office.

This is the sort of keyboard used to play competitive games with mouse used for movement or looking. Keys used for fire, issuing spells or opening things.

There are a combination of keys to use as cursor keys. Not sure if you can remap any?

Personally think it's a cool keyboard and I'm well into the 30s, it's fine to have keyboards in a certain styles without that making it 'for kids'.

No mention of type if switches has me a bit sus though, indicating lower quality

It's a £30 TKL, I imagine that says enough about the quality

60% mechanical back lit gaming keyboard. There are lots of different sizes of keyboards.

Am I the only person that still used the arrow keys and numpad? This keyboard would drive me mad, ha.

I like cut down keyboards, as my elbow hurts after a few days reaching to the right past the number pad, but the smallest I'll consider is 65% which means you have arrow keys and page up/down etc. This is just a bit too cut down for me.

I hardly ever do serious numerical entry, but if I am, I have a USB number pad that goes to the left of the keyboard or I use keyboardco.com/key…asp

The switches are apparently / allegedly Gateron red's. They are apparently soldered to the pcb, so are not meant to be easily replaceable. Unless you want to risk molding it yourself? At the end of the day, this is a cheap, budget, entry level mechanical gaming keyboard. Not a high end one you can swap all the switches a keys on.

    Info about gateron keys...

The 60% keyboards aren’t that bad. You work around the arrow keys and just use the mouse.

I use a Royal Kludge RK61 (picked it up for £40 on a Lightning Deal- currently £52) paired with a Logitech MX mouse. I don’t find myself missing the arrow keys.
