Thanks chanchi - it's looks like there were some really good deals a couple of weeks ago but now they're all either out of stock or have gone back up in price

Argos had a candy one for around £160 and I think coop electrical also had it for £179, however they're both charging £250 for it now. Mine only packed in yesterday so I saw the deals too late. I'd go for any price point to be honest as long as I feel it's a good deal, I want to avoid the heat pump ones though as they take ages to dry! Thanks

I am also looking for a condense one if you find a good deal.

I was looking at a heat pump Bosch tumble dryer however when you do the sums of a purchase price of £6-700 and a life of 8-10 years this AEG made more sense. Great buy at this price and a good Which review.Delivered this morning.

Same price at Currys

Any condenser deals

Would like to know if anyone finds a good condenser deal!!

Sorry just me being lazy really, but will anyone tell me the main differences between a heat pump and a condenser one and why a condenser is better?

Apologies and thanks

From the limited research I've done;

cost;
heat pump expensive to buy cheap to run
normal condenser cheap to buy and expensive to run

speed;
heat pump slow to dry, normal is quicker

longevity;
only my thoughts, but heat pump is a new tech so I'm unsure about long term. With normal condenser then generally the more you pay the longer it'll hopefully last

Don't worry about the Candy one. I bought it and it was terrible build quality. The door leaked so I sent it back to co-op. It was also very noisy and used loads of electricity.

I got a heat pump AEG after almost getting this vented one a while ago, basically because heat pump dryer is more efficient. Really pleased with it and works really welll.

one important bit of information you maybe didnt realise is that HEAT PUMP DRYERS (the A rated ones)
ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR GARAGES AND OUTHOUSES. (somewhere cold basically)
as they are simialr to modern fridge freezers with their refridgerants

as its a common place that people have had their dryers... if that's where you have a dryer stick with a vented, albeit they cost more to run... but a heat pump wouldnt be covered

the B rated condensers its less of an issue, but you could still run into problems..
so there is still a reason why some people may get a vented tumble dryer
otherwise heatpump FTW!

Thanks for this been looking for a decent vented dryer. Ordered!

Bought this last year for £240. Very happy with it. Heat added!

to those looking at condensers - I've gone for this one:

hotukdeals.com/dea…921

I also added the guarantee - £69 for 5 years (although it comes with 1 year so effectively only 4 years)

my white knight is still going 8 years on but if i needed a dryer id be all over this like a rash. dont bother with condenser and heat pump, these vented ones are still the best, ok theyre a pain as you need to put the hose to an outside wall but they dry much better than the others

My condenser, a newish Beko, dries to a crisp (I mean, too hot to touch if needed) and unlike the vented in my previous property I didn't have to drill the wall to vent. Heat pump models do take longer in general, but I certainly wouldn't diss condensers.

AO.com just price matched with Currys for me too.

AO pricematched for me yesterday and delivered it today. Signed me up to the £4.99/m insurance plan which I will probably cancel though.

I've not opened it yet but do I need to purchase a vented kit?
