Not a bad speaker... bought one when it was around 60 pounds. Only thing is the Bluetooth stopped working on mine with android products but still plays over airplay and spotify connect.

This will tell you everything you need on pairing, updating firmware if needed and how to connect it to you Wi-fi network etc

Worth a punt but this was never ever sold for £300 or if it was no one on earth paid that.

Edit: I see it did originally sell for $399 but that was when all the extra functionality existed...... see below
and I see:

12/16/15: Aether has discontinued its operations, and the acquisition and consequent shutdown of the Rdio streaming service means that the unique features of this product, like voice search, are no longer active. If you've purchased an Aether Cone, you can perform a firmware update that turns the speaker into a basic AirPlay/Bluetooth tabletop speaker and adds Spotify Connect. More details are available at Aether.com.]

Defo worth it for this price. Spotify connect and airplay. Not mega loud but decent enough sound for music in a small room or for audiobooks. I’ve got two of them. They don’t compete with something like a Sonos play 1 but you could buy 4 or 5 of these for the same price

Very decent sound. I just plugged mine to amazon dot. As the pm said the Bluetooth doesn’t work with android well. My last 3 phones only managed to connect to it once. Airplay works a lot better.

Got one of these. Nice little system for low volume playback with loads of options.

I was going to buy these until I realised the mutiroom app has been removed from the App Store. Went and got some bargain Sonos 1s in the end. Decided to just pay up for some high quality!

Surely this is good as a stand-alone unit though - I’ve seen some crap speakers for £30 in some stores. This must be a step up on the usual stuff in this price bracket... if the connectivity survives.

Can this work with a dot for multiroom?

I’ve got one and it’s disappointing to be honest, looks cool enough but the front is wobbly and the sounds isn’t brilliant

This is bluetooth only, all multi connect network functionality has been disabled. Basically these were high end networked devises, the company went bust, patched it to bluetooth only and then sold all their stock off dirt cheap.

It connects to a dot through Bluetooth so yes it can.

I’ve had this for years. For a long time I could use it with Spotify connect but I can’t anymore for some reason. It has always worked on bluetooth for me. The sound is incredible for a speaker so cheap. It’s not sonos quality but not a million miles away

my son and daughter got one each of these, both have had problems with connection after about a month of having, one was changed the other sitting on side now getting dusty!
But the sound is very good when working.

Would this be decent in a bathroom? Does it have to be plugged in or is it a rechargeable battery?
I was originally thinking of Bose soundlink - but for £30 - this seems decent

It runs off battery if needed but can be left on and plugged in. Don’t think I it’s bathroom rated officially but it’s worked fine the times I’ve used it in the bathroom to play audiobooks to the kids.
It’s not small mind, because it’s sort of square shaped it takes up shelf depth as well as width.

I reckon you’d get £30/£40 selling it on gumtree if it didn’t work out

In would be as good as any other in a bathroom.. obviously the moisture and water might be an issue. If I were you I’d get this and see what you think before a Bose. The sound is seriously superb, it’s a steal at £30. Just a bit fiddly to set up sometimes. It’s rechargable and lasts a decent amount of time per charge

Has this got line in capability?

Thanks. I’ve taken your advice. For £30
i don’t mind taking the risk. It’s only going to be occasional use anyway. Probably just Bluetooth it and use spotify. I have a NAD visia 1 for normal use but that needs plugging in and is too big for bathroom. This looks ideal and I like what the reviews say - despite its obvious issues

Reviews say no from what I read

No it doesn’t, can confirm

I feel like a salesman for this thing but I do love it.. also it feels a good weight and very solidly built. It feels like a premium product that apple would make. The large dial on the front you can turn to skip forwards and backwards, and the button in the middle is touch activated to pause and unpause.

They are pretty decent for this kind of money. It plays flawlessly off Spotify great for the kitchen or bedroom.

Has it been a month already Every time this 'deal' pops up I think about getting one.

In response to comment above, no that's not true. As far as I'm aware it became clear to the developers that it wasn't going to work so they released a firmware enabling Spotify Connect and disabling their intended streaming services. So it has Spotify Connect and Airplay in addition to Bluetooth. Whether that lasts forever or not is debatable I suppose, since Spotify or Apple could make some vast changes and perhaps no-one will update this device.

Does anyone know how to stop it auto disconnecting? I link it to Alexa, it works well and is good value but goes to sleep and needs re connected to Bluetooth every morning which can be a hassle.

It's one of those things you see cropping up again on here every few weeks.

Just ordered and they've got a store right by me so can collect to save delivery cost. Hope it's decent. Will it work with *ahem* unofficial Spotify app over Bluetooth?

Someone has already shared the link but this has everything you need!

on their website:
"a £300 speaker, The difference is, you're only paying £29!,"
thank you OP for putting the actual price on the deal.
But when they put such hype on their webpage it makes you wonder what you are getting and probably gives an indication about any possible returns.
