I’ve been waiting for this to be available at 50% off again for some time, and just spotted that the previous ePHOTOzine offer is back! Affinity Photo is an absolute steal at £23.99 imho.

Any good is this a Photoshop competitor ?
My Photoshop sub has just ended (user of 20+ years), so I've only just recently moved to Affinity Photo and even though it isn't perfect, it does work really well. I'm waiting for a deal on Affinity Designer and Photo on ipad next

I've been trying capture one it's pretty good not as resource heavy as lightroom
Good deal. Not tried this software, I still have an old version of Lightroom although I've not moved it to new PC setup since I migrated to an SSD.
Worth every penny, switch over when this was in beta as I didn't like Adobe's SaaS model. I use this and their designer, also bought the ipad version. Lacks some Ps and Ai features and doesnt have the plugin support for 3rd party apps for some industries, but nothing that really affects my requirements and there is usually a work around.

but is super quick to load, great community and development of new features all the time.
Seems a great choice, but it constantly crashed for me (both personal Win 10 laptop, and work's Win 7 laptop).

I generally stick with Photostop at home. Or if I'm doing something quick, or stuck on Work's laptop, photopea.com is a great free web based photoshop clone
Does anyone know if this is better than Lumiere? I have this and that on my shortlist to replace Photoshop.
Good spot OP, voted hot!

I bought it at this price previously and have been using it for a few months now.

I was looking for something to replace Lightroom and Photoshop as I don't like Adobe's subscription model.
For my "non-pro" use it has been perfect although a lot of pros also seem to use it.
It has had plenty of updates and I don't think it has crashed once for me under Win 10 x64.
If there is an area that I dislike it's the printing but that is also improving constantly.

I also found a few useful YouTube channels relating to Affinity Photo which I sometimes turn to for inspiration...

The licence is for one operating system (you choose at checkout).

There is a trial, yeah. The links can be found on the bottom of the main Affinity photo page (affinity.serif.com/en-…oto), but here they are:

Windows: store.serif.com/get…ws/

Great, thanks. I've been waiting for this to be reduced in price. Just in time as I was considering my five annual update to Adobe Photoshop Elements. This gives me time to evaluate this well reviewed photo editor at a reasonable price.
Brilliant software so non professional

Professional can make their own judgement
I’ve been looking for something on the iPad where I can merge three or five images to create a hdr image? Does anyone know if it’s possible on Affinity iPad? Thanks

Thanks for link.
What's the difference between buying direct vs Mac App store?
Our company switched away from Photoshop and moved to this recently due to increasing costs of Photoshop for their annual subscriptions. One fairly small payment and you’ve got it as long as you want Subscription only sucks

This is cheaper!

I meant in general. Are there any advantages (Other than price) of buying from Mac App Store. I see people say updates are easier, but I thought Affinity lets you update in app anyway?

You get notified when you open the app if there is an update available. Literally two clicks to update.

I haven't taken the plunge on it yet but been looking into it. It lists HDR Merge as one of the features.
I like Affinity Photo, there's been nothing so far that I've tried to do with it that it can't do and Photoshop can. I haven't seen if there's a healing brush though. Affinity Designer is also a really decent alternative to Illustrator, but it doesn't have image trace. If it did I'd swap over straight away.
Is there a deal for Affinity Designer?

I've been looking for one too, specifically for iPad more though, but black Friday is coming and last year they had 20 - 30% off, so I'll try and wait till then
Thanks OP. Gone for it
