I assume this is an alternative to Photoshop Elements? How does it compare?

I assume this is an alternative to Photoshop Elements? How does it compare?

I've had it for a while when it was on another offer and have been impressed.
I had Photoshop CC with the monthly subscription but didn't really use it enough for the continuing monthly payments. I bought this for RAW processing, photo editing and some basic graphic design and it's great for my needs.

There's still a lot of development going on to fully compete with Photoshop but for me it's a great product already and at this price I'd say give it a try.
I've been struggling with Paint3D, Irfan View and built-in W10 photo viewer/editor, none of which did what i wanted and were also unable to make good use of the Wacom pen that came with my HP tablet PC. So, i am hoping this paid-for app will be an improvement!
It's a nice deal but am finding it difficult to buy, microsoft not accepting my card atm.

Edit: seems I was in Uzbekistan !! changed region and card accepted

I have seen a lot of people say that it has made them ditch their Adobe subscriptions. I am going to give it a go as soon as my subscription nears its end.

Great timing! My Adobe subscription is up next month so I'm going to give this a go. Thanks for posting, I've been meaning to check it out for quite a while and this has given me the nudge I needed
Worth pointing out that the excellent Affinity Designer also has the same discount.
Windows Apps downloaded and installed (working), not sure where installed files are ? any hints out there ?

I tried it and deleted it.
Will give this a try. Needing to move on from Photoshop Elements 10 and I refuse to pay Adobe silly money for the current versions.
Has anyone used Luminar 2018 btw? That's still quite a bit cheaper than Photoshop 2018.
I moved from Photoshop to Affinity fairly recently and it's been a good replacement for me. They have a trial version that lets you try stuff out. Give it a chance and it may surprise you.

What did you dislike about it?

It was too basic and I didn't like the UI.
I'm comparing it to Ps.
Well worth the money
Serif software has always been excellent and great value. I have used their stuff for years including DrawPlus and Webplus (which they sadly stopped making) and these new affinity programs are supposed to be excellent. I have tried the trial and although it is good and a brilliant price I am to used to using Photoshop and found it hard to change. Plus I don't like the personas and I think photoshop still just has the edge for me.

But this price is a great deal as when I contacted them as a long term customer they would not offer any kind of discount on the new affinity range and that is unusual for them as you could always barter with them when upgrading from older versions
Affinity is great...plenty of tutorials as well.

Tuts
I bought Affinity Designer last year. For less than 40 quid one-off it's a no-brainer compared with Adobe Illustrator which would cost £20 a month. Tempted to also grab Affinity Photo at this price.

way better
If anyone has a Mac I suggest trying Pixelmator Pro which is also on discount at the moment. Pixelmator
I bought affinity when it first came out, paid about £20 for the Mac app. As a photoshop user of 20+ years I couldn't get to grips with it, I was too used to photoshop shortcuts etc, so still pay for it annually.

I believe Windows Store software is installed and hidden in a WindowsApp folder which has been locked-down by Microsoft by limiting the file permissions!
This supports Windows 7 - 10 but if you buy from the MS Store it only supports W10! I guess it's a special App Store version?
can I install it on two computers with two different windows accounts? Bought it for me but wouldn't mind using it on my work laptop as well
same as plexae - is it allowed on 2 machines for the 1 price?
Direct from Affinity now 20% off until 5 January.

End of Year Sale. 20% off - only £38.99. (Was £48.99)
