I was searching for a good reading light that was a decent design, tall in height, LED and dimmable with good reviews (especially considering that Amazon only started to sell Nov 2016). This was a good buy with the promotional discount applied.

Effective and Efficient Lighting: The combination of powerful LEDs and a light diffuser panel makes this highly effective lighting with reduced glare. The light is pure, non-ghosting, and flicker-free. Great for reading, work, and study. The LEDs are also highly efficient; saving you energy-and money
Convenient Dimming Control: Turn on and tap through 3 brightness levels using the touch button conveniently placed on top of the lamp head. Choose low, medium, or high brightness to match your activity and feeling
Adjustable Angle: Set light position and angle with ease. The super-flexible 'gooseneck' bends and twists to focus light in almost any direction. Instantly adapt to your situation and light up exactly the area you want
Practical Placement: This free-standing floor light has more flexible use than fixed lights, desk lamps, and others. Place anywhere in the room to illuminate a general space or specific seating area. This sturdy metal light weighs only 1.6kg / 3.53lb; relocate with minimal effort if needed
Modern & Minimalist Lamp: Made with modern materials in a simple and pleasing style that complements rather than conflicts with its surroundings. Internal cabling maintains a clean and uncompromised profile. This is slimline design with subtle elegance

6.8 watts sounds a bit low to me as that is equivalent to about a 40 watt "old fashioned" lamp. My LED desk light is 12 watts and that seems to be just right for reading and working.

cibarious

Perceived brightness can be compared in lumens, not watts.
