I thought that this looked quite good spec for the money although I don't know what the reviews are like or if there are any custom roms. Might be a good one for the kids. It appears to be UK stock so no nasty surprises with VAT.

If I was you, I'd stick the same thing but with an USB charger as well. futeko.com/pro…php

I bought the Aino Novo 7 Advanced at the start of the year from futeko, and everything was fine.

I've zapped my N7A with ICS, and now I don't see it any more because my wife uses it as a Kindle! oO I might grab one of these for my wife so I can have my tablet back! lol
I got the Eken T01 from Futeko. I wonder how much better this is?
1024 x 600 not that great for use as a kindle (my experience being with the natpc tablet), Ppi is noticeably too low for nice sharp text. For everything else its fine though.

Quite easy to compare the specs. ET01

Simply, the Mars has better specs, more memory, larger rez, bigger battery. It isn't bad for the spec at all. And most likely will work even better if the TorMars firmware is zapped on to it.
Next release: Ainol novo 0 Uranus ... i am so childish..

So it looks exactly like a... Kindle then?

I haven't read extensively on my 1024x600 screen yet, but it looks fine to me. It's the damn shininess of the screen that irritates more.
Mars and Tornado are currently very problematic in terms of touchscreen and camera, better avoid it until they sort out the firmware.

Is there an English language forum for this tablet?

????

I have a Galaxy Tab and Blackberry and both with 1024 x 600 screen are very good ..... no problems at all.
Tempting and at half the price of the Galaxy Tab it could be a decent stocking filler.

The Novo Venus looks some spec if it comes out at a decent price and with no major problems (unlike the Novo Fire/ Flame)

Edit, it comes out early in December hopefully in time for XMas.

I have been following those Chinese forum and there are tons of Mars and Tornado users suffering from buggy touchscreen, SD files missing and greenish camera color problem. However, there are no official responses or ROM update regarding to those issues so far.

Ainol might be concentrating on its high end products while leaving those single core tablets behind.
The Novo 8 Dream looks promising..was close to getting a Momo8 IPS but the wifi issues put me off. An 8" screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio gives almost 50% more viewable scrren that a 7 incher-but is still more portable than a 10 incher.

On reflection I've decided to spend a little more & get the kids a Galaxy Tab2 - it has much better community support & seems a good bit more reliable.
