Specifications are a bit vague but I think this is it: m.alibaba.com/pro…tml
It does say that the noise level is 50dB however might be worth to take with a pinch of salt. Might be worth asking Groupon directly.

Cheers added it.
Am tempted but wife might kick me out!
Also I wouldn't go for the smaller BTU units they have for the price difference.

Comes in handy next year, and the year after, and the year after that....
I doubt this is the last heatwave the UK will ever have.

I bought an AC unit last year from them and they were pretty good when I requested a refund due to miss selling it. Basically it was advertised as 55dB but the box said 62dB. However they sorted out the collection from my house and gave a refund within 2 days etc, were very prompt.

Bbbrrrrr it's cold in here! Someone leave the AC on?!
Jeez, we get about 2 or 3 hot days a year, and people are supposed to have this lumbering monstrosity sat there dormant for the other 362?

If you're too hot get outside and put your feet in some water!

Cool . Just a bit worried that you can buy it off Alibaba. That site is only really good for cheap Chinese tat

Probably easier to just put the tot in the freezer?
Any reviews yet
38192049.jpgAm I meant to remove this? If so how?

I've just got it and it appears to be good. But the air direction isn't straight I am assuming it's because if polystyrene.

I can't see a way to remove it. It's sealed in.

Looking closer with the phones flash light, the polystyrene surrounds the spinning fan that's blowing the air. It blows in an angle to the right.

I called the manufacturer support number in the US, the guy told me that its normal for a window uni. He wasn't someone that dealt with customers and he sounded like he was in a rush.

@16*C it isn't cold as I was expecting. @18*C it seems like the air is cooler. I've currently set this up in a large living room with a open kitchen so it's hard to tell if it could cool a whole room without leaving it on for ages.

It's quite loud on high fan speed. Decent at low speed.

Don't remove it!
The one I had definitely said to open the front and remove it as was part of the packaging. So am glad you asked.

How long after you ordered it did it arrive? I know they say to give 7 working days but I ordered mine at the beginning of the week and hoping it arrives before the weekend.

Also it is a common misconception that the air temperature the unit emits changes when you set the temp lower. The temp setting is just a target temperature you want the room to reach, once it reaches it the compressor switches off, it doesn't make any difference if you set it to 16 or 18 the air temperature it gives out will be the same. This is where the BTU rating comes in, the higher it is the lower the cold air temp which means the faster your room is cooled. Using a 9000BTU in a larger room will take longer to cool than a 12000BTU in a room the same size, if the room is too large for your AC BTU rating it will struggle to lower the temperature and may never reach the target temp as the air warms faster than the AC can cool it.

You may also find (as I do with my current 9000BTU AC) is if you run it at full fan speed the air given out is slightly less cool than running at a lower fan speed. I use the high speed in a hot room to quickly circulate the air and drop the temperature but then turn down the fan speed after a while to get the benefit of the colder air which then helps to reach my target temperature which I usually keep at 20/21C.

I ordered it on the 26th and it arrived today. My only gripe is that the vent does not push the air out straight. Instead goes towards my left had side if I was to face it dead forward. Its a decent unit for the price.

Delivered using DPD, got an email on Tuesday that it was being delivered.

Can you let me know when you get yours if the air direction is the same as mine?
Cheers
