Good price for a kit this size and complexity ;-)

Hot  - just bought it - guess I must be slightly drunk.
My brother never finished his kit when we were kids - so it'll be good to see how it looks finished

It's worth noting on all these deals saying £2 MP3 credit that you only get 1 credit per account , NOT 1 credit for every purchase of £10 or more on any account .

Also this is only 7" long , not that big at all for a model ship , unless Amazon have the dimensions wrong .

Arrr. This be a good deal me hearties.

Valid comment on the MP3 Credit.

Amazon do have both versions of the dimensions they give wrong; Wasa was around 230 feet including bowsprit the model is in 1:144 scale so is considerably longer than 7" (170mm) - around 20" (500mm)

P.S. Mine shipped this morning Arr!

The rigging and tackle blocks will drive you mental.
Good luck

Yep i remember doing the Victory as a kid. A right bitch to get all the rigging correct lol !

PS this is how mine turned out :whistling:

Hmm, description is a bit off? Checked the airfix site:

Plastic scale model kit
1:144 Scale
Skill level: 4 (where 1 is for the beginner and 4 is for the more experienced modeller)
Dimensions: length 170mm x width 170mm
Number of parts: 229
Requires painting: yes

Doesnt seem very big? but still hot cos its half price

As I've already explained a 230 foot ship at 1:144 scale will be around 20" (500mm) long overall.

The Airfix site also is either wrong on the dimensions or the scale - as the scale is plastered all over the box we know this isn't 170mm long!

P.S. Squelds - that's a fantastic looking model - (I certainly won't be posting pictures of my attempt ;-))

Care to give any tips on the painting and rigging?
