Spot on.
My teenage Son was given one for Christmas. He had to have help with half of the assembly as it's really vague and it kept getting wired up wrong.
It's not very stable and it runs nothing like the video on youtube someone has of one.
We had to get my Dad to dismantle it and do some 'work' on a couple of components (I think some of the parts needed re soldering) as the first time we finally got the thing to run it had about as much power as one of them naff fans you buy from a pound shop. Even now on full speed it won't run properly and the blade needs a push start (I believe the air blower just isn't powerful enough) it will only run on full power.
I'd advise anyone who asked me to avoid this as I feel it's very poorly designed, my Son was so excited to receive this but he's been left disappointed by how poor the product was.

So sorry for the long winded post, I just thought I'd share with you all as we've had experience with one and I'd avoid buying it unless I found it on the shelved in poundland!! (I'm just glad it wasn't us bought it in the first place).
Agree with Chickaroo. I had one of these a few years ago - it was a really big let down. Avoid.
will this power my cessna 172?
Turbojet with no after burner or compression chamber, cold. Turbofans are more efficient.
Good enough for a 5 year old I think. Ordered. Thanks very much guys.

It's a turbofan engine.
Loving the puns!

Nope. It has massive circles of plastic blocking the bypass. It is meant to model a turbofan, but if I actually passed air through it the bypass would not function and therefore it acts more like a turbojet.
Heat! Ordered jet set..... go!

Would still have liked to have seen a combustion chamber. So in this case, it sucks, it squeezes, it blows, but no bang. Looking at the reviews above it might not even squeeze or blow either. But, hey, its twelve quid. Good educational toy for the kids. Just set it on fire just behind the compressor after you finally get it spinning for a lifelike effect.
Am I missing something? Why exactly would anyone want one of these?
