There seems to be some other kits too that are back in stock, but the stock comes and goes so quickly at the minute

my youngest has been busy building these, far more patience than I ever had, I never got round to painting em as they didn’t come with the paints in them days

they still make sets without paints but that adds another task in finding/sourcing the paints, glue(?) and brushes.
The starter sets, like this one, include everything you need to build it,
there’s some others here;

Airfix Starter Sets

Wont appeal to everyone but it’s something different to do like

Nice to relive my childhood need to practice my machine gun noises when playing afterwards
What material are these kits. Is it plastic or metal
I’m that bored I’ve given it a go. Will try it with my lad. Thanks for posting
Did loads of these when I was a kid, spitfire, flying fortress that was an amazing plane, also did a Kawasaki GPZ750 to name just a few
Blimey! When I first bought this kit, it came in a plastic bag & cost 1s 3d!!! (about 6p)

You will need tweezers at points as some parts are microscopic!
Never done one of these although always wanted to. The whole thing of having to source the paint and glue etc put me off. Same as with the Revell stuff.

Give it a go! What's the worst that could happen? Plenty of resources about, tons of YouTube content, there's even a modelmaking subreddit
These starter sets are fantastic. You get far more glue and paint than you need, so if you enjoy doing them you've got some resources left over when you move on to other models.

They're in Lidl & Aldi a couple of times a year for about £7, but this deal's still great for anyone without a time machine.
I think everyone back in the 70s had built a airfix Messershmitt, Spitfire and a 1930s Alfa Romeo at some point. lol

Heat, but just enough to get the transfers to stick on the wings and tail.

£4.99 when in supermarkets

Also this tends to be cheaper as well in Amazon, as it usually retails for around £7... but I guess a tenner is not terrible when you're bored at home, although I wouldn't say this is a deal. Very rarely you'll find this at more than £10
about 5 bob when I was a kid if that
What I remember from the early 1960s...
