I managed to snag this also via the hold fare. I didn't realise they don't deduct the £25 from the final price - which is annoying. Still a pretty good deal.

Does anyone know how much the skycouch upgrade would be on a pair of these tickets?

misteraadam

It's only £25. You're still making a saving of £175!

May as well quote the fare as £224 then.

I understand the hold fare premium cost, but I think they should either force you to use it or no-one can use it. Makes it fair. The tickets are £399 for that time, so with the hold fare fee, your eating into the savings.

Yeah I got the tickets for £199 - I went in at 10:00 on the dot and didn't select seats in a bid to try to speed through the booking process. Then reserved my seats after the tickets were confirmed and emailed through. I'd bought them by 10:02 according to the email I received from ANZ, so I guess they must have all been gone around that time.

Hoping to get some decent flights, to LA, for August 2016. Two kids with us now so double the cost :-(

I have flown with ANZ several times and they are good... but in economy their 777 aircraft do not compare to the comfort you get on the A380.
For such a long journey comfort and quietness are really important to me.

voted hot because it made someone use the word esoteric

What's the cheapest would I get in July aug do airlines give special offers in those pick times

The nice thing about flying to LA with Air New Zealand is that most of the other passengers are re-boarding to fly on to New Zealand so there is little queuing at customs. Maybe more people fly with them just to LA now but when I flew with them about 6-7 years ago it was literally just myself, wife and son going through customs. So much less hassle when travelling with a small child!
