£10 (less than 5%) is not worth the 6-8 day shipping time and other risks from an out of the UK seller lol.

What's so hard to justify? I've had my original AirPods since early 2017 and use them daily at home, thousands of hours use. I'll certainly pay a bit more for a pair that offer the option of isolation so they're not useless outside / annoying for others.

Which is why they offer credit or appeal to those earning higher than average. Our local CEX’s normal AirPod stock dramatically increased by the end of play Friday - I’m guessing many have upgraded.

Credit doesn't make it cheaper. Just my opinion but I can't see the justification in this as a mainstream item, it probably costs 20% tops of the price to manafacture and if I made it the exact same item for half the price I bet no one would buy it. It's a gimmick, they're headphones! not everyone who buys these is a genuine audiophile but I bet there'll be a lot of people who want to own them for the sake of it.

Mate, do you not realise the R&D effort & costs they must have gone to in having THREE different sizes (S/M/L)

Absolutely revolutionary

That they cost 240 pounds. Surely there are others who do the same thing for less. My point is that you are likely the exception. You sound as though you have made a good reasoned decision and you need them. I seriously doubt most of those who buy them don't need them. Also are these £100 better than the AirPods?

So you're justifying the price of airpods then saying they're useless outside? If I paid £160 for the normal ones, I would expect then to have noise isolation, why should you have to pay a premium when the originals are at a premium price already?
I think I will get mine from Apple store for the sake of £10.

Love all the poor people comments on here - luckily there are lots of Chinese copies about for them ... in fact they can probably get a pair for £10 if they can go to that amount

it doesn't matter if you can afford them or not, the thing is wether it’s a better price than normal and in this case it is, so should vote hot.

I remember when it used to be hard to convince people it was worth spending £50 on a decent set of cans, and trying to get them to part with £200+ was like climbing a Everest both barefoot and with no additional oxygen supply. Now people seem to throw money at these things without even listening to them, it trying them for comfort and fit.
Pretty convinced that my knacky old Shure's with custom tips will trash these for both convince and sound quality, no need to charge, no need to pair them and they have built-in drop-out prevention (a cable).

Still, hot deal for the price, terrible deal for the product.
From early reviews these are deemed to be in the same ball park as Sony's WF-1000 range. Apple chuck in a couple of Apple friendly features leaving a pretty reasonable asking price for ANC wireless buds in comparison. I don't see these fitting in to the MBP/iPhone Apple tax category myself but understand why some do.

I've been waiting for a decent pair of ANC wireless buds so these may well fit the bill. My Sony WH1000's are just not going down well in the office so needing something a little more discreet.

*Jabbering intensifies*

Since you're obsessed with the tips for some odd reason, are you aware of the double mesh design they have used? Or their unique fixing mechanism? Or the Ear Tip Fit test which helps you find the best fit using the in built microphones to help gauge the seal between the headset and your ears?

Of course you're not.

But you're right, they are pretty revolutionary.

GPS? Is that so you can use "Find my lost earbud" in the iPhone app when you lose one down the back of the sofa.

Ditto. No obsession here, just a Very simple observation.
You seem very touchy, are you the brains behind this Nobel nomination or something. Feel free to have the last word on this though 🏻 It seems strangely important to you. Bye forever wave

Sony's offerings have been getting better but they're still rather bulky and they insist on including LEDs. At least the LEDs don't flash **non-stop** in-use which was the case with many of their flagship earphones and headphones until very recently. I found the WF-1000XM3 far too easy to knock out accidentally, the ANC is also pretty bad compared to their headphones (i've had quite a few of these).

Hoping the AirPods Pro fit me well as they seem to tick most boxes.
I was right... negative comments ....

I’m a genuine audiophile and I own them. They offer a better experience as an IOS user compared to the Sony WF1000M3 that I returned after 2 days of disappointment. Apple have made a good product here IMO. Credit makes the justification of purchase easier as it eases up the cash flow, I never said cheaper. Some will buy them because of the ‘Pro’ badge - but I don’t think that’s our problem
