Synopsis
Created by Donald Bellisario (JAG,Magnum P.I.), Airwolf was among the many action-adventure shows of the 1980s that garnered a cult following. Jan-Michael Vincent stars as the improbably named Stringfellow Hawke, a Vietnam veteran still troubled by the disappearance of his brother during the war. Secret government agent 'Archangel' (Alex Cord) approaches Hawke with a unique offer: to help him recover and then become the de facto pilot of the powerful, top-secret helicopter known as Airwolf. With that proposal the series begins chronicling Hawke's adventures, along with his sidekick Dominic (Ernest Borgnine) as pilot of the advanced aircraft. Contains every episode of the series.

Eye there was; first name Michael.

Great series that is still very watchable today.

Just be thankful that Airwolf Season 4 isn't included!

Sell the helicopter, let all the cast and crew go... Uhm what!!...we're making a fourth series..........?!!

loved the show but hated the 4th season, changed everything except the heilcopter, the music and effects were awful

Never understood if they wanted Airwolf back, why they didn't just follow Stringfellow to the lair when he drove there in Dominic Santini's Jeep?!?!?!?

Following him would be too simple n make a **** show lol

Heat just for the theme tune - classic!!

Used to love this and street hawk. ;-D

I always used to wonder that myself lol, but they needed to keep the series going. I had the sneaking feeling ArchAngel really knew where it was, but kept that info away from the rest of 'The Company'. The arrangement with Hawke suited him. But that's my contrived story anyway

Heat for a great series. The first pilot movie episode was the grittiest and best IMO.

Deffo Heat added, and whilst ordering at this on Amazon I also just ordered Street Hawk DVD too!!!
80's TV viewing weekend coming up :-)

Hmmm.... I can go with that, plus wasn't there some sort of "biometric" start up thingymedoodie on the door (this was kids TV, chopping Strings hand off to gain access wouldn't go down too well!!). OR was it that they only had String as a test pilot and noone else knew how to fly it?!?! Either way I used to bloody love this series.... so long as it was an action/blowing stuff up one, hated the slow lovey-dovey ones they threw in everyso often.... seem to remember they introduced a semi-tidy ginger "assistant" (well come on, anyone would be an improvement on Ernest Borgnine!!).... ahh, fond memories....... we'll leave that one there!!!

Actually 'Dom' ( 'Dominic' / Ernest Borgnine's character ) flew 'the lady' as he called her on occasion too if I recall correctly...agree with you re the ginger lass - 'Caitlin' - lovely big smile !

One the first sets of parents to name their kids silly...not content with naming the elder ( MIA ) sibling 'Sinjin' they named the next one Stringfellow lol !

Out of the fast black vehicle set ( others = Knight Rider and Street Hawk ) this was probably the most plausible in reality however the chopper's rotors and mechanism would need to be considerably stronger.

I'll stop here...sounding like a techno-geek nerd lol !

I remember him flying it now too.... perhaps he was originally from Liverpool and just hotwired it (it was the 80s afterall, long before coded keys etc X))

Streek Hawk was ridden by Daredevil (from "The Trial of the Incredible Hulk").

That's got to count for something, right?

Seriously, "Jessie Mach", had "auto-pilot" as on-board non-standard equipment on his Honda CR 250/XR 500 capable of speeds up to 300mph.

Yeah, well Michael Knight was also a lifeguard so that out trumps Jessie and his bike may have had autopilot but could it talk or drive itself?? Let's not forget KITT's top end speed is higher, especially when those wing things came out the side and the spoiler came up (although I think they were added as aftermarket additions following him getting mashed by Garth!!) AND KITT had a funky "boost" button that somehow made it jump while making a weird noise!! Beat that StreetHawk!!!!

I never said "Street Hawk" could beat "K.I.T.T".

"Blue Thunder" would probably beat "Airwolf" too.

The pilot of that took down Jaws (more than once).

HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST SUCH A THING!!!! Airwolf had machine guns, those under belly pod cannon things and a turbo plus it had loads more lights in the cockpit so they were bound to control loads of other cool extra bits 'n bobs, what did Blue Thunder have??

Roy Scheider & his conscience.

Roy Scheider & his conscience.

So now you're saying that Stringfellow had no conscience even though he kept having flashbacks to some war or other, clearly suffering from post traumatic shock and yet you still see fit to belittle him!?!?! Gloves are off buddy, Roy Schneider nearly got his ass wooped by a fish... A FISH!!!!!

Stringfellow liked art & playing the cello.

LOL, may he rest in peace..... knowing that although a talented pilot/policeman/fisherman, he was bettered by Airwolf

How about "SeaQuest DSV"? Schieder has had some notable acting roles since 1986 (unlike Jan-Michael Vincent).
