Absolutely. Not a fan of Vestel, paid about £150 for a full HD JVC which was replaced with a Toshiba, both Vestel and not great so returned. Eventually paid £225 for a Samsung, but thinking back the TV is in a spare room and used maybe once a month, this Akai would have been a cheap and maybe better option. Samsung miles ahead, but if not used often, why spend more.

I'm really sorry, not an expert, I only copied the description from their site on the assumption they know what they are doing. Are you suggesting this is not a smart TV, cannot be connected to internet?

Yes unfortunately so, it is not a smart TV. I bought one and it does not have any settings to connect to my Wifi or LAN. There is no Android TV settings or Apps so I am asking ebuyer for a refund. Let's see how good their customer service is to respond

Good luck, my experience with their CS was bad and the issue was straight forward. Took me forever to solve it, but with was directly with ebuyer, not their eBay side.

I will end it. If I post a deal, I copy from their website, I can't dig on everything on the assumption the seller does not know the specs. If buyers have doubts, they should do the research before purchasing, like I always do when I buy stuff for myself. There is a Lenovo tablet posted as 3GB RAM from Argos, however reading on website there is nothing mentioned on it about 3GB RAM. So, I went in store and asked to see the box and read the specs before buying it. I know you can't do the same with Ebuyer, as there is no shop, but still, as soon as you mentioned it is not smart, I've checked on line and found the info straight away. I am seriously considering not to use them since they do not have a clue what they are selling.

Sometimes things are too good to be true...the price was good, but no point to spend £20-30 on a fire stick or roku, you can get a full hd smart TV for close to £150.

I wish to return the item as it is not as described or alternatively I will consider a partial refund of £30 and retain the item."

The reason behind my asking for a £30 refund was that that will be approx cost to get a plug in stick to make it Smart.

I had a reply a couple of hours ago asking me to send photos of the back of the TV to enable them to investigate. (I presume so they can check the model number).

I sent the photos and will update you when I hear further.

Thanks that's basically what my last message to them said as well and as sheffield788 has pointed out the Akai site does say this is not a smart TV so we are perfectly entitled to complain about the false advertisement. Fingers crossed they agree to your reasonable offer.

There is no reason not to agree to a refund. Not only they advertised it wrong, and the mistake us quite major, you are also entitled to a refund under eBay policy anyway.
If the image is good, I think it is a good idea to ask for s one refund for you to get a stick to make the tv smart. Yes, you will have an extra cable, but as a whole, you'll get the tv for a good price.

My experience with them was I've got an Acer laptop years ago and they had an offer to give £50 back of the £200 If purchased within a certain period. I've placed the order 48 hours before the period ended and the laptop was delivered a day after that ended. They declined the cashback on the ridiculous reason the laptop reached me after the period ended. Moreover, I had to wait for 6 weeks first to claim the money so 30 days money back guarantee was over. It took me about 10 emails and months of waiting to get £50 and the reason I've got it was because Acer extended the cash back by one week. Their argument was it didn't matter when I placed the order, it mattered when I received the item. This was long time ago and was directly with Ebuyer, not via eBay. With eBay should be easier as product not as described.

I have not heard from Ebuyer (via ebay) yet either. I have sent them a reminder - if I don't hear from them further I will request a return a return from ebay.

I think is stupid from their side not to give you a £30 refund and keep the TV. More hassle for them to pick it up and TBH I really much doubt it will get a good price for the TV, as it is a low specs and classed as 'used' now, they will make a loss.

Take a picture from here to show they offered this deal to somebody else and ask them why they discriminate you . They will probably agree straight away, but given how slow they move, by that time they may have the TV back...
