It can, but I wouldn't advise you, it should drain battery faster than normal headphones

Not cans to use out and about either

Phones or portable players need lower impedance earphones, or you'll be constantly turning the volume up to try and get the volume levels you want.

Not all that robust either from what I've read. Also no good for whilst out and about, your fellow train, bus or plane passengers will be giving you the evils because they can hear your music (semi open back design means sound leakage).
These are about listening on your sofa or lazy chair when you don't want to disturb others listening through your speakers.

I know, surely LG phones and other flagships can power them properly, but like I said these are not for use on the go: no isolation, apart from leakage; and you're guaranteed a few weird looks in the street too, like if you were just coming from latest Star Wars movie set

Just got these delivered.
Comfortable, not heavy whilst wearing, sound pretty good, compared to an older pair of Sennheisers I already had, these AKG's sound fuller but could do with a bit more punch, crisp enough detail and good soundstaging.

Overall for the price, I'm glad I got them, think of them as a comfy pair of cans to listen to music. Needs a bit of amplification to bring some punch to the party.
(Can't listen to the Sennheisers now, they sound so thin and screechy in comparison.)

That's the thing with these, the low end is missing something, but the rest is good. Very comfortable with the velour pads.

Yep! After 10 minutes listening with the factory fitted vinyl pads, they're the equivalent of putting your ears in a sous-vide. With the velours, nice 'n comfy.
