Great set of headphones, especially sub-£50!
Clear sound and a reputable brand in the audio world, nice find, hot!

brilliant price, got some for £53 on amazon a couple of weeks ago but they've shot up to £79 on there now!

The best headphones for the price that I have ever owned! I paid £49 for mine at a local Superfi. They out class headphones waaaay more expensive. Ps, only difference between 451/452's is that one has an inline remote specically for Apple and the other for everything else (according to the guy in the store anyway)

Got the K450's and believe these are much the same but with inline mic and vol control for smartphones(?)

Probably the best sounding headphones I've come across for sub £100, really good sound regardless of music tastes. Only grumbles are that they're a little top heavy and the sturdy headband topples forwards if I learn forwards so a tiny bit annoying and the cable seems rather thin and shortish but not had a failure because of that though.

Paid nearly £60 for these in white.

Great headphones.

Great cans, if there still around though save yourself some cash and get the originals minus the remote/mic - iirc they we're knocking around sub £30.

Cable can be replaced by better quality one on eBay

GREAT headphones I brought these from Richersounds for £69 about 18 months ago.

AKG 451 won product of the year2012 & 2013 in whathifi awards the only difference between 451 & 452 is down to power draw, I have the 451 and they are superb!

AKG's are great, used in recording studios round the world!

Have you got a brand / model recommendation for the cable? I bought one off Amazon a few weeks ago (both of mine have broken), and it was entirely the wrong size [was labelled as compatible with K450-451-452]. Barely surviving with some old in-ears, at the moment ;).

Agree with the comments - I have the 451s and they just about shade my wife's Bose OE2i for sound - they are certainly more sensitive (so louder), are slightly better built and come with a much nicer case. The Bose were something like 150 quid - so these are a bargain.

I've tried the Bose noise cancelling and the Beats and while these AKG's don't have noise cancellation I decided the better sound was more useful to me than noise cancellation as I don't travel too much.

I agree with other comments; these are the best headphones you can get for under £100 by a long way.

If you are a Beats fan try these to remind yourself what music actually sounds like.

If you are a Beats fan then you will not be interested in audio quality.

K451s are available online, and they do the same job, except they also have volume +/- buttons on the inline remote (though this only works with Apple products)

i know someone who wants beats to wear in public, but sennys to wear when no one is looking! that's £500 total. .. People can be so clever

had these for a year, brilliant build and quality.

That is true, that is why I said

because anybody with Beats headphones will have been listening to nasty distorted sound of low quality.

I bought the 451s last august after reading a lot of reviews. I ignored the bad reviews about the folding design and enjoyed the earphone until about a month ago. Now believe me when I say that I really cared for the headphones - cosseted them even. Overnight the right earpiece stopped working. I intially suspected that the calbe was fauty so I replaced it with the spare cable. No joy.

I called Amazon (the seller in my case), and then AKG. Both said that the headphones were outside of the warranty period. I'm not happy to have spent £50 on the 'rental' of some headphones for 14 months. Have any other HUKD people had their 45ns for a simliar length of time?

I haven't bought one myself but I think this seems a good quality one.

You can get the white version here for £24.99:

Just to clarify, the 452s are the Android compatible variant of the 451s (which are for Apple devices). The 452 controls won't work on iPhone, the 451 won't work on Android.

It DOES work for Apple devices. The difference between the 451s and 452s are that the 451s have volume up/down buttons which only work on Apple devices, the main button on both works on all devices.
