Manufacturer refurb, which should mean proper warranty. Made in Austria and it really shows – these feel incredible in hand and on head. A serious bit of gear, though not for walkabouts. Be quick, likely low stock.

Bear in mind that these are not the colouring bass-heavy cans for low quality mp3s/ phones/ ipads. These are pro reference headphones for detailed listening.

Use mine for FPS gaming for footsteps etc. Cracking pair or cans for jazz and such music.

You can port mod them, well I did with my Q701s, for more bass.

"Unbreakable metal arches" sounds like a challenge to me

I have a pair of the original 701's which were made in Austria and are about a decade old. I thought they had moved production to China. Very good reference headphones which need a good amplifier.

Why the heat? these are not a huge lot cheaper than brand new ones. B grade items should be around half retail price in my opinion. At £65 I would bite but this is not cheaper enough for a B grade returned item.

Because well-used K701s often cost more on eBay...

It's unlikely these refurbs were manufactured in Austria, production shifted to China some time ago.
K702's with replaceable cable are also available for £93.

Hmmm, that would be a shame. My old ones are Austrian – will let you know whether these are or not, as soon as they arrive. K702 by the way, are horrible, nothing to do with the quality of K701.

Intrigued by your K701/K702 comment, they're the same headphone in a dark colour scheme with a removable cable.

Can't see a way of buying them. Guessing out of stock.

These are Chinese versions. You can tell by the bump free headband.

I have used a Chinese K702 and Austrian-made K701, hence my comment. The difference in craftsmanship, materials and sound is massive. While my (now well-worn) K701 is still a joy to use, the 702 was sent back within days.

Thanks, that is true, just had it confirmed by Scan. Still a good price but I cannot recommend them over the original set.
