I have the K52's, are these much of an upgrade?

No idea gringo.
Assuming it should be going by the model number, but could be just marketing tricks.

What HiFi review whathifi.com/akg/k72/review

"...The AKG K72s look and feel great given how cheap they are, but the real draw here is the sound.

It’s expansive, with width and scale just not heard in the kind of headphones found on the high street at £40.

There’s enough bass to make them a fun listen if you’re after a late-night music/movies pair rather than a monitor headphone, but the sound is relatively taut...
Tonally they are similar, although the claimed bass extension of the K52s is worse and the claimed treble extension of the K92s better..."

I'll give you heat because I'm tempted but I'm using Bluetooth headphones more and more (though my wired options are much better quality, go figure)

Wired will always sound better, no?

I'm no hi-fi buff, think aptX is better quality Bluetooth, but I assume so. I was gifted these by my brother for my birthday - apparently Hi-Res audio compatible but think only when the wire's plugged in, and you need the right audio files.

(The Samsung Level On Pro headphones I've linked to are on Amazon Warehouse at the moment, if anyone wants to gamble - mixed reviews, though).

He got me mine from Amazon Warehouse as well, so debatably not that generous (I chose them, though).
El cheapo Korean dog meat rubbish.

Yeah, say what you really mean. Korean dog meat is something they pay well for, so perhaps not the best analogy.
Besides, this is LG and Samsung land you are talking about. The progress they've made as a country is nothing short of remarkable (and they didn't steal western ideas and copycat them like China has).

The picture of one of the ear cups which denotes "Designed and engineered in Vienna"
Normally a cause for concern when they omit the place of manufacturer to prevent erosion of brand kudos, but quite a few of the well-established UK HiFi brands (Arcam, KEF to name two I've recently auditioned) design their mid to high end products in the UK and then get them manufactured in China. They certainly ain't cheap, Korean or dog meat rubbish and they sound magnificent.

Look, it's from Amazon, costs the same amount you'd pay for a takeaway for two people. #If it's cack, send it back.

No, not from western countries but they did steal a lot from a better country - Japan!

Haven’t used anything by A&R Cambridge for some time now but they are still a budget brand...
At least compared to my Esoteric jap rubbish I use they are anyways...

Sounds like you feel you know best.
So what 'esoteric Jap rubbish' have you been listening to?

The Japs stopped making decent audio equipment in the very early 1990's. Well respected brands which built things for the studio first, often setting the standards that took decades for others to catch up - they're all down the toilet now.

Arcam a budget brand? Maybe their recent designed in UK made in China stuff is. At worse, I'd consider them a mid-range brand. Everyone's jumped on the bluetooth bus. Quality audio manufacturers can't make decent margins with the low volume of stock they shift.
So they either massively overcharge for a solid piece of kit, or go the lifestyle route which sounds ok but not really worth the pricetag, or they design it in the UK & manufacture it abroad to bring some chance of making money by selling to the average joe.

Face it, decent new music is thin on the ground. Why would you need a decent setup unless you are really into your music?
Fewer people have an emotional connection to music these days since the b45trd iPod was invented.

I can't justify spending how many thousands on a pair of B&W speakers much as I would love to listen to them everyday (please send a cheque my way if you're feeling generous) when the flat I live in is made from cardboard and barely big enough to fit an early VHS recorder.
OMG, You’ve never heard of the brand Esoteric??? They are just expensive rubbish...I only bought them because I wanted a couple of solid metal door stoppers...

Can't say I have listened to their stuff. They're a German brand.

Looks like you've more money than sense.
