Its much better than the tinny rubbish on a LCD

well I've just picked it up anyway. checked with argos and they said I can bring it back if I change my mind and the quality is crap so I'll see when I get home.

Let us know how it goes as I'm debating whether to go for this or a Goodman's 50w with subwoofer from Sainsburys for £35.

Cheers

personally a
I think adding £10 for a subwoofer is a good decision. if you have £10 additional in your budget, go for it, you wont regret.

Thanks op, picked one up this afternoon for my mum's tinny TV. It's not bad, woth £25. As always, manage your expectations and remember don't expect a monster system for £25.

Unfortunately no auto power on or off by the looks of it so far.

That probably would have been ideal I suppose. I got it set up and I must admit, the sound quality was better than I was expecting but, for me personally, it's not quite enough so I suppose a sub would have given it that extra punch that might have made me want to keep it. I think it would be ideal for a smaller bedroom sized room though.

I would ideally like to replace my ancient surround system with something like a soundbar, but, as usual, my budget never really stretches to anything decent so I guess I have to keep trying these bargains in the hope that i get lucky.

As luck would have it, this alba doesn't actually work with my television, so i'm using that as an excuse to return it tomorrow. it's more my tv being old and crap more than anything, but at least i should be able to get a refund and maybe not be so tempted by the price next time.
