I have the 6" version. Its good for a spare, but loves to install its own alcatel apps! You`ll get a link that says "boost performance"....30 minutes later a whole loads of crap apps have installed!

Yeah it's £9.99 no matter what sim you pick
4GB rom is there any room for apps? I'm sure the operating system probably takes up 3.5gb
Avoid like the plague, I have support these for a major network, limited memory despite sd card slot and very very poor operating system overlay.
I have one and use it as a cheap Sat Nav system. Seems to be Ok as long as you have a cheap data sim in it.

I also used it to run the Aviva Drive App to monitor my driving. Seemed OK on that too. Its only a tenner... What are people expecting?

Even as an MP3 player its worth it!
    Is it unlocked ?
Turn off auto updates in play store if you buy this, Alcatel's updated apps are absolutely dire and infuriating, and ruin the phone, particularly their new launcher:-

No, it is £1 to unlock on ebay. Model is is a 4034x
Use one as sat back with mapfactor navigator and one as a journey recorder with daily roads (no sim required for either) I don't think I could use it as a phone on a regular basis though.

Good to have as a back-up at this price to tide you over if your main phone goes kerblooey, until you can get a new one.
I use one as a side line for my Ambilight tv, basic and does the job. Heat.

Yeah, why the developers would think anybody would want the useful features removed from the stock launcher, in exchange for a more basic one with an inane smiley Octopus spider thingy dangling by a thread from the top of the home screen, blowing bubbles, is beyond me. I wonder what they were smoking.

According to some reviews, it shows adverts too! I found no option to disable the octopus and nothing good about the new launcher in general, at best, it was just a waste of the phone's limited memory, and the original is far better. I think both Nova launcher and Apex are actually smaller.

Most of the 5 star reviews on Play store looked as dodgy as the app, with batches of blank reviews with seemingly random letters for names and even multiple posts of reviews stolen from Nova.

    Don't forget TCB.
Hot. Been waiting for ages for it to be back in stock!

So can I uninstall the curreny launcher and use Apex or Nova? Which is the lightest?
    Out of stock online
Are they available via phone order?
    OOS?
Still says its in stock if you follow the link

    Followed the link. Oos
    It is now!
: Hey mate, what kinda phone you got?

    : A Pixi.

    : LMAO!

    : >sob<
Depends if you want to be prudent with your money or have Street Cred... Each to their own I suppose
Just bought one as a spare. Great MP3 players.
Spare for a tenner! Can't complain. Good if you use it for phone calls and..that's it
I don't want to take a full-size phone when I go out running, but I only use Spotify so iPod Shuffles etc are out. Can I use this Pixi SIM-free, install Spotify and download playlists to the phone via Wi-Fi and then have access to them on the go? Would this work?
Showing in stock again! Weird.. Is it because people fail to go thru checkout?
Have a backup lumia 435 which is similarly specced. Good for basic texting, phonecalls and a max of two apps (spotify and whatsapp) before it starts twitching anything else and it switches itself off
    oos @ the moment
Ordered thanks. Was showing OOS first then appeared in my basket.
I ordered two Like New Lenovo B's a few months ago, received two distinct order #s, but only received one handset.
The 2nd order vanished; no follow-up email, no cancellation notification, just an automatic refund. (they still had stock)

I'd guess it was some form of duplicate order protection to prevent numpties accidentally ordering multiple handsets.
Still, worth bearing in mind if you're ordering multiple handsets; use a different email address or one or other of your orders might vanish!

I have the Lenovo B. It's amazing for the price lol.
I got one of these for my son last year.

Terrible battery life and really slow - we weren't expecting much but we were still disappointed.
Just a heads up, when you go to get these unlocked, you may find they are locked to Tesco, not O2 directly, which affects the unlock codes that get generated. Remove the battery and quote the serial you see, to ensure the ebay unlocker has the correct info

You can revert to the original launcher ( settings->apps->Launcher, then touch the three dots at the top right hand corner and uninstall updates). You first either need to disable auto-update for all apps in Play Store's settings, or search for "Joy launcher - Live wallpaper" in play store and disable auto update just for that app (three dots at top right hand corner) to stop it coming back, in which case, I would disable updates for the other Alcatel apps including their weather app too.

The stock launcher would be the lightest option since it is in the firmware and seems to be fine, but if you want a better, more customisable launcher, I'd recommend Nova.

I did think about rooting the phone so I could remove the unwanted apps, but it is not straightforward on this phone.

You don't need to switch off auto updates, just go in to settings/applications and disable each app you don't want running. Job done and they won't be using any resources on the system either.
