This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

I think the price is pretty good for an unlocked 3G-capable flip phone. It comes with an O2 PAYG SIM pack which would be a good option for a low user (3p/min calls). Screen is 2.8", 240×320 pixels. Free next day delivery.

Good for an older person since it has large buttons, loud ringer, speakerphone. An LED on the front flashes to show missed call/SMS etc. It also has quite a few features my Mum will never use...
Bluetooth, FM radio, internet browser, 2MP camera with flash/torch, micro SD slot. You can set custom ringtones and probably play MP3s. I think there's an option to automatically record all calls.

The ones supplied by O2 are unlocked so you can use any network SIM (micro SIM). It comes with a micro USB cable but no mains charger.

Locked to o2

"The ones supplied by O2 are unlocked so you can use any network SIM (micro SIM)."
o2 locks its PAYG phones usually, except some nokias, but not all models
Bought lots of them, all were locked except nokia 3310 3G

I bought one of this specific model and it's definitely not locked.

(For different phones that may actually be locked, O2 will unlock for free anyway.)
Go via TopCashback or Quidco (not the deal link above) for 38p cashback.

Good to know it is unlocked, hot from me.

O2 actually charges £15 unlocking fee for PAYG phones after 12 months, the phones on monthly contracts are free to unlock though.
I have just been told by o2 that it comes locked :/

Maybe whoever you spoke with was speaking generally and didn't know about this exact model?

I put a TPO Mobile SIM in mine to check and could make and receive calls. TPO uses the Three network.

I don't think so, unless it's possible to access WhatsApp via a basic web browser?

Thanks, could have sworn I read somewhere the other day that O2 unlock for free. No charge was mentioned in the My O2 app before entering IMEI code, but I didn't go any further since the phone was unlocked anyway.

O2 Retail (online), and O2 Store's (offline) are not the same things ...

Eg. some Month's back I bought 2 x Nokia 3310 (2017) 3G mobile phone's from O2 Retail (online), which came to me BOTH as unlocked! (happy Day's!). :-)

But the EXACT SAME Nokia 3310 (2017) 3G mobile phone in an O2 Store (offline), was blatantly locked! - I know for sure, because the very same Week that my 2 x Nokia 3310 (2017) 3G mobile phone's were delivered to me, I went into an O2 Store in a Shopping Center and asked them, and yep!, I was then told ...

And yeh, the exact same phone too (and no different).

But yes, the locked/unlocked nature of O2 mobile phone's (online, and/or offline), is blatantly a 50/50 basically?, lol). :-)

If it's a Joi phone, then I guess so?. :-)

But if not, then ...

(Who knows?), lol.

TPO might use the Three Network, but the Three Network uses O2 ..

So arguably the exact same thing?.

Ps.
In future, try an T-Mobile/EE SIM to be 100% sure, when 'experimenting' with such things?. :-)

You're correct!, you did, lol, I remember that too. :-)

Some 3/4+ Month's back on here, people on HUKD via a different Thread SAID speak of such too, etc?.

NEW EU RULES on EU Member State Countries and all that, will NOW be getting alllllll their phone's unlocked via their respective Network's for free now! - kinda a pointless toooooooo last minute thing for us in the UK, on account of us being on a 11th hour Brexit thing, and all that, etc? (but yeh, what the hell?, UK was included too!, lol).

There was a certain online form that needed filling in at the time in order to put in your request for FREE unlocking via your respective Network and wotnots?. :-D

(But I forget via which Thread is was via now? - and the respective link too, to be honest?). :-(

Hopefully someone else on here can continue with this one? - and fill in the 'blanks' accordingly, etc etc etc?. :-)

I find it kinda weird that GiffGaff spell's out O2's wishes, but O2's own website doesn't? (I'm genuinely confused like?).

What am I missing ... loooool.
