Yes it's not a very good phone, yes it only has 1GB RAM etc. etc.. but could be useful for some where a large screen and small budget is paramount - effectively you get a 3G tablet for £45 if you have an old phone lying around - let the cold votes commence There's also a A3 XL 4G version with more RAM, 16GB and Nougat that may work out at £65 (but only Laptops Direct say there's £50 cashback on this model not the official Alcatel offer page) here laptopsdirect.co.uk/alc…asp

Nice find! Have some heat

Trade in terms and conditions: "Second hand or refurbished phones will not qualify for the offer."

So, unless the phone that you're returning is new, there's no £50 trade in, or am I reading too much into it?

Ignore that, it obviously doesn't make sense and it contradicts what it says on the Alcatel site.

Interesting, I think the offer would still apply too which would make it ~£20!!!!!

You should post it up - it might even go hot I'm certainly tempted

I think it means second hand Alcatel phones don't qualify, not the phone you trade in.

You phrasing it as a question threw me off! The original wording of the T&C is unfortunately ambiguous at first glance

Can any old phone be traded-in? Even a non-smart £5 alcatel backup phone?

Has to be working and undamaged, reasonable wear and tear accepted

I've checked the Approved Retailers for the £50 Cashback offer and Laptops Direct are NOT on the list. So I'd inquire before on this point before ordering. Also their published telephone # is the very expensive chargeable 0871 series of numbers - they say 13ppm plus network charges, so TAKE CARE.

They are on the list, they come under their group name, But IT direct. Not that it matters, Asda is the buy.

And the ASDA price has dropped to £70.00 plus 4p for a bag for Click and Collect.

TBH, Alcatel phones leave a lot to be desired... Even top end ones...

No wonder ASDA are trying to clear them out!

I ordered the A3 from CPW. £79.99 with £50 back when i trade in my old smart phone. I'll sell the £10 top up voucher i had to buy and there is £5 back from quidco. That should bring it down to around £30 all in. Seems a good deal to me but i'm not a heavy smart phone user so it will do for my needs.

Picked one up. First ebay unlocker I tried couldn't unlock it - need to try another. The OP one is unlocked.

You should post that up- I would but don't want to steal your glory! I took your advice and it's dual SIM and unlocked though I bought an unlocking code for 99p before I found out!
