Alcatel A3 XL at Argos for £99.95

A3 XL under £100 can't be bad. Decent specs for the price and no messing about.
I know you can't get similar for less by ordering from China but this is one the high street, with proper guarantee and customer service.

I'd rather buy from argos
have you seen the 3v it walks over the 3xl. we are selling bucket loads of them. that's if you want that size and Alcatel

btw we were selling these cheaper at Tesco mobile but the 3v has superseded it

There was a report recently that a number of the cheapie phones like this were pre-loaded with malware Alcatel were one of those mentioned as was some ZTE. Might be worth checking through Google first which ones in particular
Got this from Tesco a wee while ago when Alcatel were offering fifty quid trade-in. Think it cost me about £39 after the cashback. Sent them an ancient phone that was worth very little.
Good phone if you want the extra screen space, quick and responsive enough for me, and way better that the Doogee Y6C it replaced, which was as slow as anything. Not sure I would pay £100 for it though.

Likewise, sent them 2 HTC phones one nearly brand new, had loads of run around chasing the cash back eventually got it 2 months later minus £25 because of 'scratches' on phones, can't wait to get rid of phone as its really sluggish and poor battery life, l'll never have another Alcatel phone.

same question from me....
I've got an Alcatel and they do push their own apps on without your permission

I wouldn't touch Alcatel with a bargepole now!

The Alcatel Pixi I bought my father was ok when he got it, but after several weeks when it was far too late to return it, Alcatel pushed out updated replacement apps via play store app auto-updates, most notably a new launcher that contained adware.

So they may come Adware/malware free when you buy them, but might get crap pushed onto them at some point in the future unless you block updates, possibly so early purchasers don't send them back, or post negative reviews.

Even more annoyingly having blocked and uninstalled all Alcatel app updates, when I transferred his apps and settings to a better phone I got to replace it, the new phone was infected with an Alcatel app called "File Manager" which messed up the new phone's lock screen and displayed adverts.

Here's a thread of owner's complaints:- ifixit.com/Ans…her

I can confirm the above forced installation of crapware also happened on my Alcatel (also a Pixi).

I'll never buy Alcatel again.
