Sainsbury's Mobile are selling the phone for £20 on their network. It runs off Vodafone, so I presume Vodafone sims are fine too.

Confirmed as unlocked by several people now. The full specifications and model numbers are available here alcatelonetouch.com/glo…tml

I know it's not exactly a high spec phone, but for £20, it makes an excellent back up phone which you can still message, facebook, look stuff and places up etc.

Vennrod - "just purchased, can confirm that it works on a 3 sim."

Also available instore for £20 and no delivery charges

Cheers for letting us know. I've never bought from them before.

Add a micro SD card and you have a decent music player, and spare phone.

True, going to get one for the nan. She's still on tapes but this should help her get in with the times xD

Silly question, perhaps..
Does anybody know if this would need a SIM to use as a media device?
I was thinking that perhaps a spare pocket camera / games player for kids if no sim required. Just using wi fi?

can anyone else confirm they come unlocked please ?

Not in my experience.

I'm not sure, you could give it a try and if it does get a free one from somewhere like giffgaff and just not register it? might work

I bought a phone in September and it came unlocked.

SIM not required.

Note that if you do plan to top up and use on sainsburys network the self serve tills seem to be spewing out £5 off a £10 top up vouchers

yes the tills at Sainsbury's store are spewing £5 of £10 top up vouchers and its a good time to top up

Also try below for 1000 nectar points for the sim you get with this phone worth £5 (no top up required)

Thanks

Isn't the screen res. too low for humans to see let alone use use??
Do you only get £5 of top-up when you pay £10 . . . .or is it £5 off a £10 top-up . . . or is it a £5 voucher to top-up . . . or is it a £5 voucher to spend on sweeties etc. ?

Do you the numbers for these mums on WhatsApp? I want to scan their ports.

Ahah.

Looking at the specs the screen isn't even multitouch.

Hey would this be any good for my 10 year old ?she had an iPad and wants an iPhone for her birthday but I just don't see the point she's either with me or at school I presume you can download all games and such from playstore ?

The resolution and performance is miles away from the iPhone but it is at least capable of running a few Android games / apps.
I got the similarly-spec'd LG L30 for £10 a few months ago and I wouldn't expect my daughter to like it but it does well in the car as an offline satnav (Nokia Here).

Edit: heat for the deal as there's so much you can do with a cheap phone that you'd need more than £20 for if you were to buy a dedicated item (GPS, Remote Control, MP3 player, etc)

I suspect she'd be disappointed - the 480x320 resolution and only a single-point touch screen will seem like a very (very) distant cousin to the iPad - but at that price you could take a chance without too much risk

The Huawei Y330 at Argos starts at £34.99 - yes its nearly twice the price, but I found that a very capable entry-level phone for my 10 year old daughter.

Cheapest delivery is £2.50, so £22.50 in total. Still looks a very decent deal for a backup phone

gps? if so good price for a bike computer

I can confirm that LEBARA Sims are also okay for phones sold by Sainsburys.

Amazed to see there is no free delivery to store option. Might take a look to see if they have one in store tomorrow as I hate paying for delivery!

Got one of these for my son when they were £25. Brilliant phone for the money, £20 a bargain.

Your attempt at humour is too low for most humans to recognise. It's 20 quid. Get a grip and troll elsewhere
