Alcatel Pop 7S (Like New/Grade A Refurb) 8GB 4G Android Tablet + 1GB Data £35 @ O2

While this isn't going to win any speed awards, if you're after a tablet for the kids, I don't see how this can be beaten. 16GB and 4G connectivity for £35!

O2 "Grade A" are customer returns which are as new - no scratches or marks. £35 includes a PAYG sim with 1GB of data (which I think are £10 on their own).

The 8GB version gets great reviews at Amazon - amazon.co.uk/Alc…+7s - and yeah, it's no iPad but for this price it's a bargain.

Update: These are 8GB, not 16GB as advertised.

£35 payg, £24 on Refresh

arrived as 8GB with 5.3GB left spare without doing anything to it.

For a basic 4g tablet it's reasonably priced but critical reviews elsewhere seem to suggest it's not that great. Like you say ideal for the kids but not for anyone expecting an enjoyable experience as an more mature user.

Just to add, quidco has tracked at £10 too!

I don't think this is going to be a 16gb tablet, because I don't think Alcatel make them in this size.
O2 have the new ones listed as 4gb size, so i don't see how these refurbished ones will be 16gb tablets.
I have a feeling this will be a mistake in there listing, and you'll get a 4Gb tablet.

Let see, I've ordered one also, as i saw that Quidco was also offering £10 for tablets, and that tracked, so it could turn out to be £25. However, if it does arrive and is only 4GB ROM, that may make it unusable.

Let's see.

if you have a look at technical details tab on website, it says 1gb/8gb and Android 4.3

Guess we'll find out tomorrow what we get, mine has already shipped with tracking details, delivery by UKMail tomorrow.

After reading elsewhere I am pretty sure this is 4GB internal storage, therefore is OK for undemanding tasks but bought because of possibility of Android 4.3? (because of Apps Ops), Miracast, Infra red (remote control of TV), make voice calls and do SMS, possibility of quidco and it has bluetooth and GPS.

I am a mature advanced user with in depth IT skill and executive professional experience, this tablet is supreme and is too good for kids with its 4GB internal storage for specific features for £35 plus quidco. At £35 to X 2, in case you are wishing upon a star, there is no tablet with all these functions (miracast, 4G, voice calls, bluetooth, GPS and infrared) which have great critical reviews elsewhere and and is for everyone as even an iPAD, Samsung is not for everyone.

They gave it 80% based on a purchase price of £99.99, so for £25 if the cashback tracks it would do the job for a lot of people.

Arrived as 8GB but O2 are sending out a 16GB microsd card, so can't complain for 25 quid.

Result!

Are these locked by any chance for the SIM side of it? Can I then also use another operators Voice/Data sim card after exhausting the O2 1gb SIM data?

I presume it's locked as it's from O2, however unlock codes are available on eBay for 99p

Perhaps bma445 who has received this can confirm its locked status? The attraction is the coice calling facility for which I can then use a Lycamobile with good minutes AND data !

Liamo, do you have any links to the unlock site for 99p?

Thanks

Cold for incorrect specs...

I have received it, only 8GB, sim locked to O2, unlocked it from ebay by fonecare 99p, sms ok, voice call ok via loudspeaker, as expected, screen isn't great but for 35 pounds with possible quido 10 and O2 1G data, I cannot complain

How is the battery life?

Perfect for large screen satnav/carphone

Voice calls enabled through BT phone/handset or loudspeaker

There's loads on there from different sellers.

For £25 it's great. Can't tell it's a refurb other than the brown box. The screen isn't half as bad as the reviews make out - yeah it's not great, but perfectly reasonable. It's also surprisingly fast.

To think I could buy 23 of these for the price i paid for my iPad is ridiculous!

Could you not do it through the o2 refresh? It's £1 a month so works out at £24 and you can potentially unlock it as well and cancel the contract.

You could, but it's not worth messing around with a new account on my credit file just for a £1 saving :P.

A no late payments settled account shows responsible borrowing by the account holder, besides I just added it to my existing £5 a month account.

Is this £24 if you pay £1 monthly?

Yeah, cancel Refresh after delivery.

I have had order confirmed and collected by UK Mail for delivery tommorrow

Apparently the screen is terrible but not a bad deal

bma1445

Just to add, quidco has tracked at £10 too!

Sorry to bother you but I am new in Quidco world, please could you let me know how to get £10 cashback through Quidco for buying this product.

bma1445

Register on quidco.com, search for O2 and there will be a link for o2 … Register on quidco.com, search for O2 and there will be a link for o2 tablets, click through that, order and the cashback will track. Normally it'll be paid in a couple of months. The screen really isn't as bad as the reviews make out IMO. I dunno if I got a good one or they all use the same parts, but they seem overly harsh (perhaps having reviewed it as much higher prices criticism is more justified - you'd be a bit annoyed if you'd spent a couple hundred! On another note - mines now in bits (I wanted it for protyping) and it's really repairable. I was worried that at this price it'd all be glued, or soldered together. Although I think they're fairly old stock - my battery says it was made August 2014. Perhaps they're ex display units or something.

Android prob works better on 4.5, what version are you on ? did it have a update given o2 say 4.3

It's £1.99 saving if you factor in unlock code, cashback from quidco is not guaranteed either

Thanks OP, ordered it to stick in my bag for when on the train

mine arrived this morning, never seen a tablet flat packed in such a way before but hey ho, no damage so that's what counts. performance? well so far I have just set it up and had a quick play but I am blown away to be honest, I was expecting similar performance to the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (I.e. pretty sluggish) but it's blisteringly fast in comparison. so far not noticed any noticeable lag. will report back when I've had a proper play.

Yeah me too, blistering fast compared to my Linx 10, even the wifi is superb in comparison, loads pages quick as muck which will be its main use browsing, not app bloatware.

Fantastic for £24 and 99p unlock thanks OP :-*

Off to o2 to pay device off, awaiting unlock - thanks to the 99p/ebay poster

Select the 2GB data plan

Been looking for a gel case, none that I can see on ebay - just the generic 7inch cases. Anybody else found a good case for it

Had a proper play, I am just blown away by how well this performs! People are quick to note the less than HD screen, but this choice seems to pay dividends in terms of performance, Cameras are crap (but work) viewing angles and resolution aren't great. O2 lie about the Storage (they are 8GB not 16GB I am having a hell of a job arguing this point with CS, now in contact with Ronan Dunne) Build is plasticy .... but performance is great, and not a world behind my last tablet, which was a Galaxy Tab S! Really glad you posted this, for the money its an amazing buy.
