what makes this good?
Probably like the tent my mum bought from Asda a few years ago - she nearly spent the same money on waterproofing spray when it started leaking and poles were bending like they were going to snap in the slightest wind.

Prob better spending a little more if you are camping for more than a few days like a festival on something that is going to last many years.

Neither hot nor cold from me though as some people may find it useful for the one off.

Nothing in particular but at least it will keep the rain out.
is it sewn in ground sheet?
I was camping near some guys in a Tesco tent a few years ago. It being the lakes, it poured down. They got drenched. If you are going camping, don't buy a cheap tent

I'd expect this to be decent, camping gear I've bought from Aldi always has been. Definitely not top end, but not disposable junk.

Ok, I'd be just worried about it only being 3,000HH with the British weather though.

Totally agree with your comments re Aldi camping gear

3'000 is perfectly fine for British weather imo. I have a Gelert with a HH of 2'000 and never leaked once.
Apparently 3000mm should take all the british weather can throw at it.
3000mm is fine for the British weather, and generally Aldi's camping accessories are pretty good.

I only have experience of one Aldi tent though - on the pitch opposite ours this weekend. It has rained all weekend and their brand new tent has leaked like a sieve - especially at the windows.

Agree with other comments - if you want to camp with family, or for more than a day or two you need to invest in a decent tent.
I've read that 3,000 is the bare minimum, so it should cope with most of the British rain, but prob not torrential like I had a couple of years ago in Cornwall when it absolutely pelted it down for 1 of our 2 weeks solid (I'm hoping it's better this year like it was last year when we go away to Cornwall again on Friday).

I've had cheaper tents over the years and there is nothing worse than being worried in the night if it's going to withstand gales and putting pots, plates and pans out to catch the drips and mopping up with towels during the night.

If anybody did want to spend a little more there is a 4 birth Vango tent in Go Outdoors on a good offer of £199 at the moment (I know it's more than double the cost of this one, but it does look good for the money).

3000 should be fine for pretty much everything this country can throw at you. I would say this would be fine for a weekend away.

Nice one. Very helpfull for when we go to carfest this weekend
I think it's great value. I have bought for two of us sonshoukd be spacious. Am looking for the odd weekend and some short holidays. Heat
After using this at a festival at the weekend where it Hammered it down while we put it up and a few times afterwards i can say there were no leaks. Pretty easy to put up when you know how and its a good size which housed 2 adults and 2 kids easily. Guide ropes are not the best and its a shame its not a sewn in ground sheet all the way round but for 80 notes its a bargain.

PS i advise to look in the field next to where you pitch up. If you see cows pitch further away or you'll get Moooood at 5am every morning
