Back on offer. For all who are looking for a new pressure cooker. Rather than buying an inferior (and toxic) aluminium pot, get this stainless steel one for a similar price.

Any idea what the psi levels are? I need one that does 12 but a lot of modern ones only get to about 7 or 8.

Where can you get replacement gaskets though? With tefal or prestige you can get them. But this unknown make?

This is a really good deal for anyone with an induction hob, I had to get rid of my old one as it was aluminium ... so it didn't work.

Looking at between £50+ for a stainless steel pressure cooker usually.

Being stainless steel bear in mind that it will be heavy and if filled completely will be better than doing weights!

Very good at making curries and casseroles, will cook the meat in 30 minutes instead of 2.5 hours so will save a lot of money in energy bills etc ....

Also good at cooking the forgotten cuts of meat, like Brisket.

You can pick up an aluminium pressure cooker from about £20, although stainless steel is better for a number or reasons;

* better spread of heat
* bottom does not warp
* works on all hobs

Hope this helps

Had a look in store & there are 2 settings - 60 & 100 kPa....this equates to just under 9psi & just under 15psi

Standard size gasket (Fissler, Prestige, all fit)

this pressure cooker has no trivet or separate baskets to cook different veg together! The instructions are in poor English and very unhelpful, it gives no indication of how much water to put in when cooking. Not one to choose for a first time pressure cooker user!!

I have no instruction booklet for my Aldi 5litre pressure cooker.

I have a Crofton pressure cooker which I bought at Aldi.
It came with a recipe book which contains minimal instructions, eg brown the meat, put in the potatoes, cook on high pressure setting for 20 mins. Happy to send you a copy of some sample pages if you'd like to post your email address. otherwise there are lots of general instructions about cooking times etc, just google.
If your cooker is like mine, it will have (from chef's position towards pot centre) a grey safety lid release switch (only use after steam has stopped venting when pot is off hot plate and pressure has been relieved), a red pressure overload button ( usually pops up when cooking on high pressure), and then the pressure valve which sits left (high) right( low) or far right ( release steam) . Hope this helps.
