Think I’ll treat myself to a pizza this.

I always just put my pizza stones on the barbecue and close the lid so I can cook 2 pizzas at once, much cheaper option and does the same thing. Not voted cold though as its a good price if you want one.

I don't get why pizza ovens have become a thing ? Are they different to a regular oven ? Do they taste better ?

I think it is able to generate the temperature for a perfect Pizza, Pizza ovens have a higher heat, they should be between 350-400 deg C, whereas your average Kitchen oven stops at 250 deg C.

All you need is a pizza stone which cooks it quicker and gives an authentic crispy base.

So would this cook better on a range cooker than pizza would normally cook in the oven?
Just put your pizza on a pizza stone and close the lid.....
Just remember to leave your pizza stone in after to cool! Don't take it out and put it on the floor or anything like that, the temperature change can make them shatter instantly.
Will it likely be available to preorder online? Don't have a store that near me but so want this!

A regular oven can't get as hot as a BBQ. Equally a BBQ won't get as hot as a pizza oven but it's closer. The best pizza is cooked as quickly as possible to give a crisp crust and a browned topping without drying out the crust - as a lower temperature and longer cooking time will.

An oven can still cook a nice pizza but if you want a truly authentic taste and texture then you need a wood fire pizza oven.

Pizza is best cooked quickly (2-3 minutes or so) at high temperature, which most domestic ovens can't do. You can still make a decent pizza in a normal oven, but it won't be as good as one made in a pizza oven.

Also, they are a fun alternative to BBQs for summer parties.

A pizza stone will still only get as hot as the oven in which it is being heated though. It'll retain its temperature better than a metal pan so is good for cooking many pizzas in an oven but in my experience it doesn't really make that much difference for one pizza VS just sliding the pizza (on greaseproof) onto a pre heated metal sheet.
When I was a student. I would microwave it til the cheese and toppings melted then threw it on a big pan on a stove to crisp the base. Couldn't taste the difference. I would often have some left over doner meat from behind the sofa with it though.

I bought a second hand Uuni from Ebay recently for £80 or so. It's entirely different to an oven. It cooks a pizza in about a minute and a half, and you end up with an authentic crispy base.

It might seem like an extravagance, but you can make a cracking pizza for about a quid, and you'd pay £12 for something similar in Zizzi.
Has anyone used this (the previous version)?

If so, does it give results in any way similar to a wood fired oven or least more similar than a conventional oven?

I only cook mine on a stone in my gas barbecue so it gets hotter than my oven does and makes a huge difference than putting on a pre heated metal sheet. Takes a couple of minutes to cook aswell.

Yes it will work well on a BBQ as it will absorb a lot more heat than it will in an oven, and the heat will be retained better when you open the BBQ. In this instance it will be better than a metal sheet - I was just talking about using a normal oven.
Pizza stone on BBQ. Winner every time! Only £4.99 at Home Bargains.

I am a BBQ addict.... I have this, 2 portables, a Weber touch and another Kingsford BBQ (twice the size of the Weber kettles) and 2 portable gas cookers. I cook a lot outdoors for events and charity days and the gas just helps.

Nothing like cooking in your kitchen unless you like smoke and chargrilling/flamegrilling to fill the area.
