Just returned from Aldi Coventry where I saw the 18v Nail Gun I paid £89.99 for, on clearance for £49.99! They had a couple left on the shelves next to the tills.

A great bargain for anybody who wants one.

If you are buying one of these don't forget to also have a look for stock of their £25 cordless reciprocating saw (no battery or charger included at this price).
It is not worth buying on its own because of the cost of separate charger and batteries, but since the nail gun does come with 1 of both the £25 is an awesome price when bought together.

Looks safe enough. If you close your eyes before you fire it, should be reet.

First fix or second fix??
This was at the Hinckley Road, near Walsgrave store, next door to Pets at Home.

It's a brad nailer / stapler, so I'd say ideal for 2nd fix. Check out the website link for supported staples and nails. I've bought DeWalt nails for this (1000pk!) from ScrewFix.

Yep they also had the reciprocating saw in stock too (I should have bought this). Also had the 18v drill, 18v air compressor and circular saw on clearance, but they looked to be out of the circular saw. They also have the palm router in stock at its usual price of £29.99 which i think is also a bargain.
I've been umming and rrring about getting something to defend myself if there is a burglar, something legal to buy, I've thought about a cross bow, a machete, an axe, but this could be a winner!

First fix or second fix??

It is 18g nailer so light second fix.
Be careful as part of the Ferrex tools is 18v (like drill, nailer) and part is 20v (sander, grinder). Systems are not compatible, but with ferrex 18v you can swap batteries with workzone18v, worx, old erbauer and more (sometime safety pin must be removed)
It is very good nailer. I am using It in trade for a year and still working fine.
Store specific still £89.99 online and in my local stor
Great nailer as good as a compressor one without the airline, but a bit heavy . Had a Tacwise electric nailer bit cheaper but not neary as good.

Does it really knock 50mm brad nails in fully?
i vote cold as its not national its store specific.

But that doesn't mean that the posted deal isn't a good "deal". Whats the matter with some people?
Recently bought a good few ferrex tools and upto now the only one that failed was the oscillating tool. Just stopped oscillating (i recon the gearbox teeth failed) as the motor still ran. But generally decent tools for the dough. Saves me wrecking my makita gear.

Yes, no problem. I have done three 30m long corridors with 10mm oak boards. It is jaming when you knock on old screw or nail but working well overall. MDF no problem as well.

But the op is saying there is a nail gun in the Coventry ALDI for £50 if anyone in that area is interested. Why are you valuing this as a national deal?
Has anyone bought and actually tried one of the old Erbauer/WORX batteries on the nail gun/saw?

Yes they are working fine, but same as it was with workzone you have to remove safety pin from Ferrex tools to use them with all batteries.

Thanks. Can I ask where the safety pin is on the workzone and ferrex battery to make it work with other batteries?

Unfortunately reciprocating saw is 20v so IT is different battery mount than 18v.

The safety pin is on workzone and Ferrex tools not on batteries, so you can not use lets say "professional" 4Ah erbauer or worx batteries on them. You can use 18v workzone or Ferrex batteries with all brands (Worx, old erbauer, guild 18v etc).
I will take pictrue at home but the safety pin is on black plastic between grooves on battery mount all you need to do is to cut it with Stanley knife.

Well, its ordered and I will take a close look at it once it arrives. At least ALDI is no hassle when it comes to returning stuff.

38923845-UdmJ5.jpgThis is how battery mount should look to fit all batteries. I marked where safety pin is located. Sometimes is in second or third groove.

The 20V Ferrex cordless reciprocating saw arrived yesterday afternoon and is not compatible with the old WORX/Erbauer batteries.

The metal pins that make contact with the battery are totally in the wrong position. Also there are 5 pins, while the WORX batteries only have 4 slots.

So the old WORX, Erbauer, Workzone, JCB, Guild and Titan 20V/18V batteries are out of the question, safety pin removed or not.

No for brick you have to use stronger nailer and nails, like 15 ga.

I have already told that before. Only Ferrex 18v are compatible.
Does this take 20mm Brad's? What's the smallest nail it goes?
