Aldi Half price (£1.90 per Kg) lamb leg clearance @ ALDI

In my local Aldi there were about 30 legs of lamb originally priced at £3.79 per Kg. There was a sign saying 50% off marked price on all lamb legs.

Great to fill up the freezer - I will take all the meat off the bone and chop up for curries, tagines etc

Be surprised if it's UK meat, possibly why it 's not selling?

It's British lamb.
Heat from me; sounds pretty sheep
At this price, I don't care where it's from.

...as long as the last leg of it's journey is your freezer?
That is VERY cheap, fresh it's usually around £8-10 / kilo

The Aldi legs of lamb are British, Asda, Lidl and most others NZ.

Sorry to hijack this thread, meat lovers!
any suggestion to get foreign minced pork?

Superb price. I also do the same - fillet the meat and use for all manner of things, including the dog!
Great price.

I don't know where your local Aldi is though.
Lambs in season. Haven't you seen them frolicking on the hills?

Don't guess - it is British!
Tesco claiming 'half price' at £5/kilo on theirs at the moment - and it's from NZ!
Aldi reductions are local manager reductions. Anyone seen this anywhere else?
Just leftover from Easter, where lamb seems to be the dish everyone has on Sunday, according to the supermarkets.

I've heard the exact opposite, and that British pork is of a higher quality than other offerings in Europe. Standards of welfare are also supposed to be higher.

Have you tried going to a butcher rather than a supermarket?

Not being pretentious or judgey about supermarket meat - but I've definitely found pork from a good cheap butcher to be significantly better than what I've found in Sainsburys, Tesco, and the rest - on average. If you live in London or Devon I might be able to give you a recommendation!

I stand corrected.............it'll still be labeled with the non existent fictional farm 'Ashfield'
Full price in 2 stores close to me and about 30 left with long date so dont imagine they'll be reduced anytime soon

Not Twickenham residents. The Laverstoke Farm shop charged £15.99 a kilo. But they've just gone bust - can't imagine why.
