Thanks, that's good news.

Sainsbury's got it for years. How is this even a deal?

For people who shop at aldi? Not everyone shops at sainsburys

They did introduce this last year for just couple of months then stopped it at Bristol (Bradley Stoke) Thanks

Whilst this is good news it is not a deal is it?
Think!

Should be in Freebies!!

I can't get a phone signal in Asda so use the wi-fi to check deals from Checkoutsmart!

Me! I do if I can't find an offer. Good find op!

Not at my Sainsbury's , they don't even have Apple Pay/contactless yet so they're around 19 months behind some stores

I often check hukd in shops to remind me what to look out for.

I'm not sure why aldi think this is a good idea though, customers will be able to check more easily the prices and realise other supermarkets have cheaper own brand and budget items. People are always thinking "oh look, these barely legal by trading standard copycat packaging McVotoes are cheaper than McVities at Tesco, wow aldi are so cheap" rather than looking at the equivalent products that they're not copying the packaging from

Check prices, stock, or range elsewhere. Check if it's cheaper on Amazon. Check if there's any money reselling all these reduced items on eBay. Ask a family member if we need any more milk, etc.

Very useful in Tesco when doing a big shop as it's a massive metal building with no phone signal. Tesco seems to be the only wifi where it'll connect automatically and wifi calling will work, so it's like never leaving phone coverage. Good signal in most Aldi anyway as they're only fairly small brick buildings, but sure it will be useful for some.

I regularly use supermarket wifi for a variety of reasons including huge downloads to save my bandwidth.

What I find hilarious is that one well known chain blocks me from comparing prices with their competitors!

Isn't this something you would do at home?

still don't understand why you'd need wifi in there anyway!? not like your going to stand there in front of the milk watching youtube

The whole reason that they compare Aldi products to the leading brand is that the quality of Aldi products more often than not matches the quality of these leading brands. They are often far superior than the other supermarkets own brands.

Name them!

My local Lidl introduced wifi when they rebuilt the store.

Like quite a few supermarkets who offer it, it doesn't work! (thankfully they got everything else in the store right).

That may, just possibly, not be the wisest thing I do today lol

Depends how much data you have. I'm a skin flint so I'm on a lower tarrif with only 1GB per month

Agree with that, the one at liskeard spaces are so tight , they keep one hatched off so you can do a three point turn to get out when the spaces are full.

I visit my Aldi store in Alphington, Exeter several times a week and I have not seen any sign displaying this offer - has anybody managed to use it at this store - do you need a password to log in? Thank you.

Yeh data's all good if you have signal in the store. Whats old technology??

Great news as someone who has spent more than 10 minutes in Aldi more than a few times. I once hooked myself to a special deals cage with my fleece jacket, I was there for about 30 minutes before I could catch the attention of a staff member to me free. Another time I was just staring at the cucumbers for 45 minutes... maybe a Twitter notification alert could have snapped me out of it sooner.

WiFi in Aldi is literally a game changer.

It's actually the other way around , wifi is newer technology than mobile data

why would anyone use free wifi sat in the car park whilst wife and 9 kids wander aimlessly around one of the best supermarkets in the uk ?

I use the WiFi for managing my shopping list. I have it in Google Keep, which is shared with my wife, so if we split up in a supermarket (which can be frequent when you have an angsty toddler!), it'll update from both of us.

Plus all the reasons above - checking deals and the like. And yes, if you have mobile coverage then that's just as good, but I know my local ASDA seems to kill all mobile phone signals, so the free WiFi is handy.

Customers will click an agreement to let Aldi monitor which sites are visited. If you're checking the competition while in-store they'd love to know the details. Aldi can also track your return visits more easily.

Expired.

This isn't a 'deal'. At Waitrose I can enjoy a free coffee whilst also knowing they employ more than 1 person to man the check-outs, reassuringly expensive as Stella Artois once said.

That being said, we've been using Gousto since the start of the year and largely speaking don't bother with anything other than top-up shops now. Working well for us.

Edited by: "The_Hoff" 9th Feb

Wow, great considering they have the slowest checkouts known to man.
