I think you mean "through the floor" - I paid £20 more 5 years ago ...
Can I only get this in store? So can't order online

    Correct
These ladders are really good value.
I bought mine a couple of years ago from Aldi when they were on offer and the build quality is excellent.
My friend at work recently bought this set from Wickes: wickes.co.uk/inv…028 for £79.99, and I helped him fit them. To my surprise, they turned out to be exactly the same as the ones I bought from Aldi - not just similar, but the same make/model.

Heat from me (infact, I might buy another set for my other loftspace - thanks OP)
£35 in Wilkinsons, slightly different to these but worth a look. (ordered me a set last night.)

Just had a quick look and that's a two part ladder, this is a three part with handrail. You can compare it to the other one from Wilkinson's which is £85. Good price but not comparable
Anyone have any info on installation?
be careful of these, I bought a set 2 years ago and literally after installing them they seperated and gave way. I suffered a broken ankle and finger and various cut 's, so close from me
How hard to fit are they?
what is the minimum loft opening needed for these?

    Details from Aldi website: -

Suitable for heights up to 3m (9' 10")
Non-slip ’D’ rungs for comfort and security
Universal stowing pole, compatible with most hatches
Simple DIY installation, includes all components and easy instructions
    Handrail for added safety
    Domestic use only
    Minimum hatch opening width: 38.1cm
Can I use this for a vertical loft opening instead?

    Thanks

Does this include all the hatch and the opening, etc? or is it more basic than that? My new house had a very small hatch

Don't think so, as the ladder when stored partly over hangs the access, you won't be able to push up your hatch with the ladder being in the way.

(I''m currently converting my loft for storage and had to re-do my hatch from a normal push up to a drop down one)
Stubs : Not the same at all. The wickes one is an "own brand" Youngman ladder , rated at 100kgs with box section sides. The Aldi one is an Abru (or clone of) rated at 150kgs with interlocking extruded sides. You may be getting confused with B&Q who do sell the Abru ladders.

Paul 97 Abru did have a problem a few years ago. Since then modified with catches on both sides of the ladder to prevent this.

If you visit Abru website you can download instructions and fitting info
