Box of 12 assorted Marston Ales

2 x Wychwood Hobgoblin 500ml
2 x Marston's Pedigree 500ml
2 x Ringwood Boondoggle 500ml
2 x Jennings Cumberland 500ml
2 x Banks's Bitter 500ml
2 x Brakspear Bitter 500ml

Works out at £2.47 per litre which is £1.23p per 500ml bottle.

Description of the Ales is as follows

Banks's Bitter 3.8% - deep gold in colour, a classic easy drinking ale with a distinctive crisp bitter flavour.
Brakspear Bitter 3.4% - amber in colour, the initial taste of malt and well hopped bitterness dissolves into a bitter sweet and fruity flavour.
Wychwood Hobgoblin 5.2% - a full bodied, ruby beer with chocolate and toffee malt flavours balanced by a bitter and overall fruity, mischievous character.
Jennings Cumberland Ale 4.0% - a supreme and refreshing golden ale with unique character and slightly citrus aftertaste.
Marston's Pedigree 4.5% - a fascinating aroma and palate of biscuity malt, spicy hops and gentle fruitiness, all overlain with the light sulphory note that comes from the natural Burton spting water.
Ringwood Boondoggle 4.2% - a delicious blonde fruity ale with a hop and citrus aroma.
All the beers are brewed in the UK, with Brakspear and Wychwood being brewed in Witney near Oxford, Ringwood in the New Forest, Marston's in Burton on Trent, and Jennings in Cockermouth which is in the Lake District.

I usually avoid these mixed cases as they don't always represent particularly good value when quite often it is cheaper to buy individual bottles but at £1.23 per bottle and for a reasonable selection of ales seems good value.

Even cheaper than a similar offer in LIDL 2 years ago!

This particular 12 bottle assortment is £16 at Amazon; £16 in Waitrose and £15 at Iceland

Looks like it's an in-store only.

I remember drinking Brakspeare's back in the 70's when it was still an independent Henley brewery. Used to sell it at a lovely little pub called the Belgian Arms in Holyport beween WIndsor (my then home town) and Maidenhead. They did a bitter that used to smell like chicken **** (well that's what we young whippersnappers thought at the time) but which tasted good.

Not bad, but other super markets are doing 4 for a fiver, which works out roughly the same and you can select exactly what you want.

It's not a bad price..but that Banks stuff is watered down crap and the Brakspear ain't much better. Far better getting a case of just Pedigree or Hobgoblin.

ASDA are certainly doing bottles at £1.25 which would give you 4 for £5 but Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose are still doing 4 for £6 and Sainsbury are even more expensive so this still represents good value even if the choice is limited to 6 beers

Sorry I should have looked around a bit more, I'd just ordered a load at 4 for £5 at ASDA and figured the others like to all do the same deals. I still prefer that offer but agree this is good value and had added heat.

I prefer Lidl for beer they must have bought there own brewery some beers 89p for 500ml and decent stuff too

Not on near me

I'll stick to the 60 Old Thumpers I have under the stairs! a healthy 5.2%!!

LIDL are using a number of regional breweries including Hogs Back brewery in Surrey , decent stuff indeed .
