Aldi microwave meals for 69p

25
Found 23rd Nov 2015
400g, 5 types: Spaghetti, Lasagne, Sweet'n'sour, Curry, Fishermans Pie.

All good quality - same as other brands that cost 2-3 times the price.

All just 69p (but says 75p on the website.)

Not on sale, this is the normal price (you don't have to wait until Friday and queue to get them!)

Been meaning to post this for a while, they've been this price for 4-5 months. (Used to be £1 like most other supermarkets.)

They changed manufacturer or recipe a couple months ago, which meant the calories (for Sweet'n'sour) went from 450 up to 550. I compared labels, and they hadn't just dumped a couple of tablespoons of sugar in - the numbers had all increased, so they must have removed some of the water instead.

Very cheap.... can imagine it's poor quality... but a good price for a meal

ive had the fish pie , not bad for the price at all .

sweet n sour makes a swift lunch, I liked.

Do people really put this rubbish in their bodies. The biggest laugh is that you describe them as good quality. Cuckoo

so I suppose you have healthy home made meals everyday.don't drink, smoke,.have a look everything is bad for you lol

Any microwave meal I've ever had from anywhere always smells good but is lacking in taste.

Stopped buying chilled and frozen products from aldi when I saw chickens and cream items left in the isle for an hour!

And don't eat white bread/rice/pasta, milk, sugar, meat, and on it goes

But yes, I think the majority of us ought to be eating a lot better - I recently happened across Aldi's Frozen Veg Medley (89p) where they're not cut into little soul-destroying cubes which I liked - salt and butter optional

You're totally deluded and naive if you think it's any different at any other supermarket.

I worked at Tosco years ago, and saw cages full of frozen food left out in the warehouse, as there was no room left in the freezers when the evening delivery arrived. They were eventually worked after several hours. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

when I worked for Asda, did I **** put the frozen stuff back after an hour. The less time spent in them chillers the better, few hours out ain't hurting no one

A few hours out not hurting anyone? That's the kind of attitude mr campylobacter and mr salmonella love to hear as they multiply in the warehouse,in the aisles, and heated up again in your car going home.

Well now it wouldn't be travellers diarrhoea without the car journey going home

Comment 4 and the food nazi turned up, is that a record?

They are 75p now in my store apart from the Fish Pie which is 69p still. They were 89p price marked and still are on some. I read on Aldi Facebook that the fish pie had doubled in salt content and fat since a new recipe change; this hasn't made it to our store yet though.

Ha, stock actually was infact, but out of customer view.

On the night shift, I often saw people working cages of frozen stock in a half arsed manner, who'd happily then skip off on a 1 hour dinner to return and carry on upon their return. So maybe the cage would have sat for 1hr 45mins or so on the shop floor.

Is that bad? Apparently 20 mins was the maximum, so I doubt it's good. Stock at the bottom maybe have been brought above temp on several occasions if the pattern continued.

Any idea of the nutritional value of these (550kcal according to someone). I wonder if I sprinkle on some protein powder plus some veggies would it be worthwhile....

The guy is a lidl/aldi troll.

What doesn`t kill, fattens. Seventy pence for a quick meal when you`re in a hurry is a steal, and you guys know it! We love you Aldi, oh yes we do-hoo!

First meal I looked at is the chicken breast in a mild curry sauce with rice. No idea what is supposed to be rubbish about this. Some facts would be more helpful that just a negative remark from some one who hasn't posted a single deal after over 5 years of being a member.

I have seen meat products on sale that were 3 weeks to a month past their Use by date (Use By, not best before) that was Asda, I was barred from one Asda store for buying out of date meat that I intended to take to Trading Standards, I had made previous complaints to Asda about same thing.

I've tried chilled, Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour Chicken & Bilash Chicken Jalfrezi . Only one I could complain about was the Jalfrezi , there was nowhere near enough curry sauce, other than that they were good. My favourite is Chow Mein, excellent !
