Update 2
17th May - Decreased in price from £24.99 to £23.99 delivered
Aldi will be launching an online food box from Friday 17th April containing 22 items e.g. toilet paper, antibacterial handwash, tuna 4 pack, pasta (listed items below) and will be priced at £24.99 including delivery. Given the Morrisons box is £35 thought it looked better value. Will be limited to one per customer. The food box is aimed at helping vulnerable people and those self-isolating. Will be available on aldi.co.uk/foo…els

Please shop responsibly. As Coronavirus uncertainty develops, we are seeing a lot of community demand for basic household items. Please do consider others - we all need to work together to ensure everyone gets what they need. So please don’t stockpile, and perhaps offer to help older neighbours, family or friends by sourcing items for them.

If you cant leave the house, cant get a delivery slot and don’t have someone that can shop for you then you can’t be picky, food is food.
I'll be ordering one for my 73 year old neighbour, I've been getting her bits and pieces from work as much as I can, I'm pretty sure this will be a big help for her

What a lovely idea . Morrison’s are doing similar boxes . When you are vulnerable you don’t mind paying a few extra quid having the comfort of it being delivered to your door. We hv not been out shopping in over a months due to being classed as high risk /vulnerable & need to shield for 12 weeks . This is not a time to be picky and if you can afford to pay extra few quid so be it .

Great for those who need it, I’d prefer more fresh items.

Unless you don't eat or are allergic to some of the contents i.e. dairy, nuts and fish.
Great idea, poor selection of goods
Has anyone seen the Waitrose "essentials" box, for a laugh?
I was in Aldi this morning, Shelves were full.
Picked up 4 bottles of Antibacterial Handwash.
The only thing I could no get were the 12 pack of baby wipes, I think the sign in the window said it had been paused.

Salted peanuts?

Waitrose listed Harrisa paste as a 'student essential' 😬
Hope you like soup... Who came up with the list? A 17 year old whose only experience of the elderly or vulnerable was watching Dads Army?

No. Entertain us and list the contents and price please

I agree.. The idea is great but the items are useless
Broken link op
So chocolate, biscuits and rice pudding are essential but meat apparently is not.

With all due respect and sincerely no offence to anyone, was this put together by a vegan?

Not much there for a vegan, they don't eat chocolate, biscuits or rice pudding!! I'm not a vegan btw

We need more people like you. This is the right time to help the most vulnerable and elderly people. Keep doing the great job you are doing. All of us need to stick together and stay home to save the NHS
Why isn't any Eggs or Bread on there. These are essentials and most needed when your in isolation.
I wish they could do 3 different boxes, something like Dans Le Noir restaurant has, Vegan, Pescatarian and Meat box + desserts & alcohol as extras for additional £5.
Not sure if they will be changing the items every week, but getting 200 tea bags a week & instant coffee sounds like hording to me
I like the idea, if someone can't go to the shop or cannot buy items online themselved - this is great - I hope products will change later.
Looks like salted peanuts and Soups are more important then Eggs and Bread

I do what I can. If I can help anyone i will. She's got heart problems, arthritis and other health issues, it's taken me three weeks to get a shopping slot with Asda for her which is coming today. I'll still be ordering a box for her though just incase most items are out of stock or are subbed with something she doesn't eat- if there's anything that she doesn't like I'll donate to my local food Bank. So there's no wastage appreciate your comment

maybe they will expand it, once they have launched it etc
I think it will be obvious to us once we've got through the worst that the supermarkets haven't really been sifficiently innovative & imaginative. They're getting their sales without really trying. Why try an harder.
Aaah.... good old Carrot & Coriander Soup, no one's favourite soup flavour.
You're allowed to be picky when you're paying for the food.
Has the page now been deleted?
These are awful,no fresh bread or milk.Aldi could do better than this.
Looks like Ready Steady Cook.
Here's a bag of food that no-one could make a meal out of - make a meal from the ingredients. Starting now!

This caters for majority.

There still are minority vegans and vegetarians out there and they would need self isolate too. They've been ignored unfortunately.
