Aldi reducing their fresh whole turkey 50%

Found 23rd Dec 2013
Just popped in to my local Aldi in Sale and whilst we were in store noticed the Turkey's were being reduced 50% from £17.99. This appears to be the "medium" whole fresh turkey range.
Obviously local to me but hopefully Aldi will do this across all stores.
thanks and good luck.

Picture of receipt and just to add "medium" looked to us as under 4.5kilo as the one we got was 4.4 and most were 3.6, 3.8, 4.0, 4.2.

That's a shame as you can see from the receipt 7.20 in my store and the girl who reduced them had a printed list with several types to be reduced!
Which is your local so people know for reference.

went into Aldi today. NO reductions on their fresh Turkeys.

Waiting for Waitrose tomorrow afternoon. Always plenty of reduced turkeys. Just causes a problem if I don't get one. Could be beans on toast on Xmas day!

Were reduced by 50% in 1 of my local Aldi stores about 6pm. Bought 2.4kg crown for about £10. Fresh whole goose was also half price £36 to £18. No reductions on beef, lamb or sausage meat though (yet).

What a bargain paid more than that for my frozen one but it's too late for me. Just ate my Christmas Dinner as I'll be working for the rest of the week.

What are the plasters for when you cut your fingers carving your turkey . Have a great day enjoy I it's all good fun .

I got 3 fresh turkeys, 2 crowns and a pork leg joint in Bradford Aldi tonight, all half price. A decent sized fresh turkey, just short of 4kg for £9 !!

As of tomorrow (evening) 24th December aldi will be reducing all fresh produce by upto 50% due to them being closed for a longer period than bigger supermarket brands over the christmas period.

some stores have started the sale today due to them having large amounts of stock left however alot won't be starting it until tomorrow. it all depends on the flow of stock in the aldi stores in your area

Agreed, It's all a matter of supply and demand....

Turkeys are very intelligent, they are naturally curious and enjoy exploring (when they're not kept in horrific conditions, being tortured and abused constantly until they are murdered)
These amazing animals do not deserve this.

You're right. My turkeys were curiously exploring the Bradford Aldi when they inadvertently flapped into the chiller units.

Just tried mine, still full price.

Do they usually reduce before opening time, or sometime throughout the day?

what were the plasters for did you have to fight for it?

For when he cuts his fingers carving the turkey he bought from aldi

What's the baklava for? committing crime! !.

Still full price at mine today too!

I hope you're not making the roasties out of maris pipers - you need pinks or Dublin queens.
Happy Christmas.

hee hee, thanks for all the comments, the baklava is a fluffy pastry like a pie and I'd only wear it if I went to a tiswas convention!
The plasters are for my crazy brother in law as once he has had a drink his tongue is a little sharp so plasters WILL be needed.
The maris pipers are for chippy food.
Thanks for all the comments hope all those who celebrate xmas have a fantastic and stress free time and those who don't celebrate xmas have a fun time too.

I think most retailers will be doing "silly" prices at some point today, it's just a case of holding out until they do for those who are willing to take the risk for a really cheap deal.

Have bought my turkey for years on xmas eve. Usually at M&S for half price.

this year supply is poor, quality/extras dont seem as good and prices are high.

Im currently playing hunt the cheap bird now but am failing. Do I risk leaving it till later in the day.

Same here do I leave it for later and risk or should I go now

Well what a waste of time and petrol. Still full price in north wales i even asked and they said no way in rather booming voice hence i left my plant sand flowers after being shown up this was in the old colwyn branch

Still full price in my aldi, managed to get half price in lidl.

I'm after the last turkey at Christmas LOL! Leaving it till 12.30 - could be corned beef for CD!

Just check aldi at Chadd, Derby still full price...popping back in my lunch break...fingers crossed theres some left else there will be no turkey tomorrow!

Got an extra large turkey from Aldi at Pelaw reduced from £26.99 to £13.50
All the sizes of turkey were 50% off.

Tesco Hertford reduced by at least 50%

Still full price in this morning in my local Aldi.

Marks and spencer refusing to mark down. Say they might after 3pm. City of London stores are deserted. They usually reduce them in the morning as Xmas eve is a poor trading day round here.

anyway. Tesco Bishopsgate got my trade. Half price turkey crowns. Thank you
