Wow considering the duty and VAT on a bottle the actual wine and glass bottle must be around 20p!
In Spain in Aldi, you can buy a litre carton on wine for under 50p, and bottles for around 60p and that is including 21% VAT

looks like a winner to me. i'll give it a try and then stock up if it's a good one. thanks.
From £2.59 and that one is only 8%...hence the low price. Oh and it is British.
The £2.59 one on their site says "Grove Manor British Made Rosé Wine"
"Refreshingly lower in alcohol when compared to most wines at only 8% abv."
So that is why it is cheaper only 8.5% so less duty
when you go to deal the only wine at £2.59 is 8% avb
I suppose its a good deal only if the wine is palatable.
    It's really sweet though

Bad luck then, it's rosé - wine's equivalent to offal. Will probably go great with some turkey twizzlers though
Awful wine....all the british wines in supermarkets at £2.50 are disgusting.
    OK for a cooking wine.

I agree and alcohol taxes here should be lower but there is some justification for it in that we have a pretty serious burden of alcohol related disease which needs to be paid, thus such taxation is necessary. Until we adopt a similar alcohol drinking mentality to the Spaniards, we should continue paying high duty. That said the Spaniards aren't exactly that well behaved, which just goes to show how messed up things are here.

It always amazes me that some people sign up to this site, not to post a deal to help people, but only to give us all the benefit of their wisdom and when they do it's utter tripe.

the one I have has "bottled by bodegas virgen del aguila" on it so not British. check the bottle.
The 12.5% is the Toro Loco at £3.79 (used to be £3.59!). But still a good deal for a good wine.

Erm no this is the Aldi one
Cold as "Aldi Rose Wine 75cl 12.5% avb only £2.59" is incorrect. That wine costs £2.99 as it always has.
This stuff is worst I've ever tasted.

do I have to post a receipt and a photo of the bottle ? FFS go to Aldi and look
This is one of the best wines I have tried, admittedly I like sweet cheap wine!

    try the £2.99 range ;-)
it's definitely 2.59, I buy a case of 6 at a time, it's not too strong which is good for lightweights like me...this is not a one time deal, been buying this for about 18 months now, well worth the money... yeah it wont set your world on fire.. but if you like a sweet rose, then give it a try
    Eject

do I have to post a receipt and a photo of the bottle ?

Yes please. Looks like I'm not the only one can't find it in your link.

It will then help us know what to ask for.
The link says the £2.59 bottle is only 8% ?
    Original Poster
Check the bottle :P Mine said 12.5%
Did you not read the previous posts where I said "Do I need to contact trading standards" ?
    Yeesh!
    Haven't seen it cheaper than 2.99 - that's a food price!

Post a photo of the bottle with ur receipt then

The wine in this deal is the Grove Manor which is 8% abv.

The wine in your photo link above is a different bottle of wine, looks like the Grapevine Rose.

Cold in any case - I've tried the 8% plonk and it really isn't nice.

OK Doods1875 is correct, the pic is of the Grapevine Rose @ £3.29 a bottle at 12% abv according to the expert opinion tab in the link. So not the £2.59 british wine @ 8%. Eject, I suggest making sure your facts are correct before posting. How did this wine ever get to 350 degrees heat!
I think a look see, at the receipt will be definitive.
SORTED! It's the Grapevine at £3.29.

So, I go back to my original comment. The Toro Loco, although the most expensive, is the wine to have out of this lot.

Both the Grapevine and the Toro Loco come from the same area of Spain (between Valencia and Zaragoza). But the Toro Loco has pedigree in competition. Only a bronze, not up to the gold medal the TL red achieved. But still a good recommendation nonetheless.

You know, for a minute there I almost gave a toss.
Some people are more easily pleased than others, it would appear they are also more easily amazed than others

Let's get it over with then. Let's move on.

You: you're a (insert whatever predictable insult you want here).
    Me: no you are.
    You: no you are.

    There, job done.
