Never heard of them

Aldi? It's a cheap supermarket that stocks some nice food and drink.
British Japanese Beef Burger???
I am glad they are "specially selected". If they were just normally selected they wouldn't be worth it.
Usually tasty, but don't get sucked in by the Wagyu con.

Let's hope that Aldi put more effort into the flavour of the burger than their spelling of it! 😝
Sounds suspiciously cheap.
This is the wagyu equivalent of cheap cola.
If it tastes good it tastes good but it's not really wagyu
so is this a con trick .. and not really WAGYU beef ?? why do Aldi spell it WAYGU ??

This is almost certainly a 50% breed, a Kobe cow bred with a UK breed. It won't have anywhere near the quality of true Wagyu meat. I've heard the most expensive Wagyu steaks have so much marbling that the texture is almost like corned beef (albeit tasting of steak).

Costco had wagyu steaks and they looked like 70% fat due to the amount of marbling.
Their burgers are really good for the price. Bit early for a BBQ though!

You're right. Lets wait till the evening.

Wagyu isn't a protected term so this could be any old beef really

The shelf edge label is spelt wrong, the packaging is correct.

I wonder what happens to the poor wagyu burgers that are not specially selected?
Maybe they end up in Lidl??

British Japanese Beef Burger???

It's like the new 'british' passports, which are made in France
Cheaper than buying them at wagyumamas

Aldi? It's a cheap supermarket that stocks some nice food and drink.

But that's not important right now
I'm sure they're nice and worth the money but it's definitely not real Wagyu
Wagyu or Waygu?

Not anger, just a pointless post with no relation to the OP.
